Converted into a camera mount
I didn't use this as it was intended... I need a cheap overhead camera mount for youtube videos, and I found a tutorial video about how to convert this. And it worked great. The springs on the body are very strong and move easily, but also stay perfectly in place, which was exactly what I needed it for.

Just bought this in store for cheap, works great! I mounted it with screws instead of the clamp as my desk doesn't have a place for me to use the clamp with. After tightening up some of the nuts it holds it's position with ease and easily allows movement.

This lamp is excellent for its price
This is both a review and a suggestion of improvement (DIY) for the TERTIAL #801.953.72, silver lamp cost $12.99 - in IKEA store. This lamp is excellent for its price. The functionality/price ratio is very high, this is why the 5 star rating. The electrical twist-switch (black knob) at the top of the lamp shade is really hard to turn even for an adult.Improve the switch grip by manually press-fitting a drilled toothpaste cap over the existing black knob switch button.Hope the attached photo helps.

Wayyyyyyy too expensive
Bought this item at IKEA last weekend for $8.99. Wished I had gotten two of them, so I checked to see if I could get another one online. IKEA doesn't sell them online, so I checked Amazon. Definitely not going to pay triple the price and then pay for shipping on top of it! Seems like a halfway decent lamp, but this is a terrible deal.

Värdelös skräp
I owned the earlier version of this lamp with a twist switch on the socket that stuck out through the shade. Over time this switch got progressively harder to turn until it finally quit working altogether. Additionally, the springs on the arms eventually failed to hold the lamp in an upright position after only a few months of use (the image of the lamp on the product page is the typical position it would hold at). I would be skeptical of any form of this lamp.

Arm placement
Arm doesn't easily stay placed. There should be an easy adjustment for tightening the arm into desired position.

mount it with screws
I have two of these now, both mounted on the front edge of a shelf above a workbench. (I have a white LED bulb in one, and a UV LED bulb in the other.)The arm action is great; they generally stay where they're useful. Don't miss the two springs for the upper arm that come, unattached, in the package. There are screw holes in the four corners of the lamp's base. I recommend using screws rather than using the vise-grip mounting bracket, partly because the bracket takes up space and gets in the way around the mounting point. I used four #12 x 3/4" screws. (Be sure to drill small pilot holes before driving the screws.)I have to take off one star because these lamps have a very unhelpful tendency to come out of their plastic bases when yanked around. I overcame this by inserting an inch or two of metal rod into the bottom of the metal part of each lamp, for reinforcement.Sadly, California has made it illegal to sell these in state because they don't come packaged with Compact Fluorescent Lamp bulbs. But they are great lamps for working on projects.I've attached a photo showing the mounting point of my two Tertial lamps.
