The chapters are like a trap
The worst part of the book was when the barn caught fire. It was the worst part because people could’ve gotten hurt. Just like Brady’s dad got hurt. The injuries that Brady’s dad got was a broken leg and more. Brady’s dad didn’t get burnt he accidentally fell in the barn. What I learned in the book Brady is that you should always tell your parents stuff or secrets. Brady didn’t tell his dad about the Underground Railroad. Most parents would be mad at their kids. But Brady was lucky that his dad wasn’t mad at him but actually proud of him. You should always tell your parents stuff because they will find out anyways. I recommend the book Brady because it teaches a lot of lessons and talks about the Underground Railroad. It is a good book and has a lot of chapters. It has so many chapters that you will never stop reading it..

Great historical fiction for 3rd-6th graders!
Brady tells the story of a 19th century Pennsylvania boy whose family is divided on the issue of slavery. Brady is unsure as to what he believes. Brady learns a lot about life as this coming of age story progresses-- central themes include: slavery (many facets), relationship with his father, learning not to say too much, friendships. Excellent read for mid to late elementary! Nothing too intense or inappropriate but thought provoking.

great book
our 12 year old enjoyed the book, she is learning about the underground railroad in school, so I figured this book that I enjoyed as a kid would be a nice addition to her studies.

Brady book for my elementary Library collection
Our copies of Brady were pretty tattered and the battle Book competition is coming up so I ordered some copies from Amazon. They came in great condition and are solid paperbacks. So grateful to Amazon for this option of ordering having them come in 2 days.

Amazing Story
I homeschool my daughter, and she had to read this as part of her American history curriculum. She is 11, and she really enjoyed this book. I try to read the books she reads for school so that we can discuss them together, and I was very impressed with this one. It is a "coming of age" story, but it also paints a realistic picture of the Underground Railroad. The story touches on the importance of equality and freedom. Overall, a great read (for adults too) especially if you have some background knowledge of this time period - the 1830s.
