How to get drops of oils rather than pour...
For those of you that want a drip rather than a pour; don’t cut the tip off but rather poke it with a thumbtack.

Handy for any metal needing cleaning, lubrication, and protection
This 3-in1 oil is handy to keep around to lubricate small metal parts. I use it on the hinges and blades of my pocket knives. A little goes a long way. This 4 oz bottle will last me for years. For those who don't like how quickly the spout releases oil, let me offer some advice. Instead of slicing off part of the tip on a new bottle, use a small pin to puncture a small hole in the tip. That way it will dispense only a drop at a time, and the cap will still snap on.

WARNING: Do NOT buy this from A+ Smart Home Savings -- fake label--selling 3 oz. size as 8 oz.
A+ Smart Home Savings (Amazon Prime vendor) has applied a fake paper barcode label stating this is an 8 oz. size over the manufacturer label which shows it is a 3 oz size. See photos. Astounding gall!

Since 1894, always there when you need it
What can you say? It's 3-in-one oil. I remember my mom using it on her sewing machine in the 1950s, and my dad using it on his tools. In the 1960s, I used it on my bicycle. I use it now for my sharpening stone.I hesitated before I gave it five stars. It hasn't changed my life or solved any major dilemma for me. It's just always been there ... on that shelf in the garage mixed in with the mayonnaise jar full of stray nuts and bolts, the old lawn mower blades, and the oily rags. Then I realized that any product that's been around since the 1800s, keeping sewing machines rust free for the school clothes of America's children, cleaning tools so dads can fix things, lubricating bikes so kids can be kids, and so forth, probably helped American win the Cold War, Heck, I bet somebody had a can of it with them when the Berlin wall came down. Or maybe on the moon. Who knows?I can't say a lot about what it does. It's 3-in-one. It's always there when you need it.

Great Oil / Terrible Container
I really like this oil, but the cheap plastic container and the even cheaper nozzle / cap design is just horrible. You have to yank the little cap off with such excessive force and it's attached to the main cap part, so that whole unit gets ripped off in the process spilling and splattering the oil all over the place.I've ruined clothing with this stupid plastic container. Something as simple as uncapping the oil becomes the worst experience ever. Great oil, horrible container, so horrible I personally would think about buying another oil or look for another type of container. If you think I sound like a stickler, you just wait. Oiling a few hinges may very well result in a bruised elbow, an oily mess and a completely ruined set of pants.

One great thing that hasn't changed
I've been using 3 in ONE oil since I can remember. To oil a bike chain as a kid, squeaky doors, various cupboard hinges and drawer tracts as an adult and back to that old bicycle chain once again on my adult mountain bike. It's an all around great resource to have on hand that works just as well as it ever did and HEY, it's the one product I've been using for decades that didn't feel the need to redesign it's packaging to make it look like a new thing to appeal to twitchy millennials. This is probably one the few remaining time tested products that I can say my dad used and we both still use today. The only change , which may very well have existed before, is that it now comes in a much bigger size. The only negative is that the cap holder seems to break very easily as opposed to the way it remained in the past (you almost needed a pair of bolt cutters to remove it). Other than that, NO COMPLAINTS(take a pic of this because if there is something to complain about I certainly will not dance around doing it).Special thanks to the obviously mature and experienced execs who decided to stick with the original look for the packaging.

Truly a must have for the home
A must have for the home. This size bottle will last most people their lifetime.8oz is a LOT of oil.Oil that is meant to be used at 1 or 2 drops at a time typically.Think about it!Like another said, take pin and poke a hole, come on.Plastic can doesn't bother me tooo much. The metal cans were always slimy and oily and drippy anyways.Oils by nature LOVE to escape.Keep it somewhere that if it does, it doesn't hurt you.Clearly don't lay it flat.If you put the bottle in a Ziploc bag, then stood it on your shelf, I wouldn'tlaugh at you. It's a pretty thin oil, doesn't take much at all to lubricate.Thin means drippy, so make sure you need this for your task, and not grease.$4 delivered? An amazing price.

Works when WD 40 isn't enough
I have a child that is less than a year old. In that situation you very quickly realize that every single door and cabinet in the house is extremely squeaky. Nothing you really noticed or cared about until you are praying that little guy will stay asleep. Suddenly it seems like you have screeching lemurs throughout the house that can be triggered without warning when going for a roll of toilet paper, or just opening the bathroom door. Not anymore. With this I oiled every single hinge in the house and they have been gloriously quiet for the past few months, and I still have 95% of the bottle left.I did say it's not easy to remove, but you don't want it to be? You want it to stay in place and keep that little guy asleep! I consider that to be a good thing, not a bad thing.

Terrible container - bring back the metal one!
The oil inside is fine, it's oil. The plastic container, however, is awful. You can't dispense only the amount you want, and it drips all over the place. You'll have to clean it off after each use or else the whole thing will be covered in oil. The old metal cans were designed the way they were for a reason, which seems to have been forgotten..

Man this stuff stinks
Is it normal for it to smell so bad you can't go in the garage for a few hours? Seriously smells worse than any used motor oil, firearm CLP, shotgun bore cleaner, industrial solvent, petroleum based or synthetic grease or lube I've ever used. Except concentrated ethyl mercaptan and this might be the worse smelling thing I've ever had in my garage.

Smell is too strong for indoor use.
The oil emits a powerful industrial oil type smell that makes it difficult to use indoors. i had to scrap and wash it off all our doors after i realized how powerful the odor was.

Works well on my 3D Printers
I have been using this lubrication oil on my 3d printers, specifically on the linear rods. They work well, much better than PTFE grease (which is used more on z-axis rods). This oil is more thin than standard grease, allowing it to lubricate the bearings a lot more easily. Only a tiny bit is needed and it works wonders!Highly recommend and it will last me a long time

Great Value
Most retailers were selling a smaller can. Definitely a cost-effective purchase for someone who intends to use more than a few drops per year
