This item just arrived and it seems pretty good! I bought it for my 1st grade classroom's "calm down corner" after I accidentally washed our old weighted stuffed animal, turns out the old one was stuffed with flaxseed and flaxseed doesn't take kindly to getting wet! This appears to be weighted with sand the weights are sewed to maintain their spacing and it is really helpful to be able to remove the weights so that you can wash the cover. The cover is super soft! I think the kids will really enjoy it! The inside weights are tied at six different points to the inside cover so that they're easily removable but they also will not be flopping over themselves or folding so that you end up with a very lumpy lap creature. They lost one star for me because any stuffed animal that is weighted and meant to be used by children ought to be double stitched. Maybe would not be too bad if you had a small or gentle child.Life hack, if you purchase some liquid stitch or fabric fusion glue you can run that along seams and it seems to extend the longevity of most sewed items.

It was cute, and the weight was well balanced, but... it popped a hole next to the nose with in the first few hours. I decided no big deal and sewed it. Then it popped another hole on the body the next day. Then on the same day it popped a hole in the weighted part and we lost the glass beads all over the car and more on the house floor trying to carry it in. I'm hoping I can buy another weighted bad to put it in. She has other weighted lap pets and they're fine so I know it's not just her.

Was only disappointed by the actual size once we received the item. It isn’t as large as shown in photo.

I opened up the box and immediately knew it was not made for kids with sensory needs in mind. It's closed with Velcro on the bottom, which is the part of the stuffed animal that would sit on a child's lap. Velcro on skin is never a good thing. Not only that the noise it makes is extremely annoying and not sensory friendly. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Then I flipped over the stuffed animal part and there were what I assume are ink stains on it. Really?! Looks like someone bought it, got it stained then returned it. Clearly no one bothered to make sure the item was unused before mailing it out again. Adding insult to injury, I noticed it was leaking tiny pieces of whatever used to make it weighted. Totally worthless. Immediately returned.

I returned one to only receive a second with the same problem: the minuscule sand comes out of the seams in the inside padding. Makes a mess and leaves a trail. Don’t let the adorable top fabric (my daughter and I were so disappointed!) deceive you… unless you don’t mind sand in their lap!
