A perfect size for important papers
This is perfect for your home office. It's the size of a med-large briefcase. I like the emergency access key, if needed. Reviewers are confused with the word "safe" and comment that it's not heavy enough. The safe part is to protect it through a fire and water from putting the house fire out. It's not a gun safe! It locks with a keypad, and you cannot change the code once it's established. Then there's a key to get you in if you forget the code, but if you do it's useless. That what password apps are for. I hope we don't need it, but we like the briefcase, as we like being able to carry it with us when we take an extended trip, in case the papers are needed. The price seems reasonable for the build quality. No one paid me for this review.

Compact, Secure, and Fire-Resistant – Peace of Mind in a Box!
The Honeywell Hideable Small Safe Box is perfect for keeping important documents and valuables secure. Its compact size makes it easy to stash in a closet or under a bed, but it’s heavy-duty enough to feel solid and reliable. The fire-resistant design gives me peace of mind knowing my essentials are protected in case of an emergency. The locking mechanism is smooth, and the interior has just enough room for passports, cash, and other small items. If you’re looking for a safe that’s discreet and dependable, this one’s a great investment!

Nice little box!
Needed a small little box to put things in while they are in a "holding pattern" before getting to the safety deposit box. it's not 'fireproof' but is resistant and I believe will serve the purpose I need it for. Really easy to set up, the instructions were clear. It is smaller than I was hoping for, but had to buy what was in the budget. One of these days I'll upgrade! LOL

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
Absolute garbage. Worked great for about a month and then completely fell apart. Even with new batteries, lock stopped working. What a waste of money.

Not too bad for the price
Pros:-Fits 8 1/2 x 11 pages just fine, even if in a folder or envelope. You can fit a huge stack! Like around 4", no problem.-Lightweight-Price for value-I like having the keys, just in case-Love that it has a handleNot so pros:-It says double wall construction, but the lid is an exclusion-Thought I read it was "waterproof" but there is no seal around the lid. You could add a seal to keep moisture out, but unless it's something that is fire rated it would just melt under heat.-Battery compartment cover is cheap. If it falls off (battery compartment is under lid so gravity works on it when lid is shut) then you'll need the emergency keys.-Only five digits on keypad so you'll have to create a code that likely isn't something easy to remember. This will force some folks into using a pattern, which is less secure.-Definitely easy to break into, but I only want to make it discouraging or time consuming before it is compromised. If you're serious about securing your valuables it might be better to use this box as a cheap decoy that you make visible in the house, then put your actual valuables under your mattress or in your sock drawer. :)

1 year review: ideal for medications and sharps if you are keeping a "safe house"
We unfortunately have a family member suffering from mental health issues and it's important that we control access to medications and sharp things (like kitchen knives). This box is ideal for that; the keypad is far more convenient to use than a physical key, and the entire thing it fits within a large kitchen drawer. We have been opening it multiple times a day for the past year and it works just as it did on day 1.If you are in the unfortunate situation of needing to maintain a "safe house" protocol, this product is really ideal. It's sturdy enough that you won't be able to get it open without tools that (if you are in this situation) you should be restricting access to. It's large enough to hold any but the longest carving knives (normal chef's knife and bread knife are fine), or to hold a healthy number of prescription medications and "week at a time" pill dispensers.

Exactly as advertised.
So far - so good!Set it up without a hitch and works correctly - as far as it goes. I hope it never gets tested for security but looks OK.

Good item. Works great. Good size.
Works great. Just what I wanted. Big enough for all my important papers and some cash. Wills, passports, marriage license, house deed, auto deeds, hard drive backup with photos, etc. in case of regency I will grab this box and run and save most of my important items.
