when i first got this i felt like a character in a horror movie but this has saved me time and eliminated me wasting freezer bags in the process. i don't care for the icemaker on our fridge so i bought a stand alone ice machine which is fantastic but figuring out how to store my ice without it turning into one giant block of ice was a problem. so i started storing the ice in freezer bags and then hitting the bags against the counter to break up the block of ice, which worked fine but eventually holes and tears would form on the bags so i was using multiple bags. i was watching a movie and saw someone using an ice pick so i thought why not. i am really surprised how well it breaks up the ice into chunks and does it very quickly. although it comes with a screw on cover, i just stick it uncovered in a cup that i also store the ice scoop in, i can't be bothered to screw and unscrew the cap every time, if it had been a cap that slides on and off, then i would use it. it's a great little tool, well made and works perfect.

Works great! Love the size and handle and that it has a cover. I dry it off before covering it. Would definitely buy again

I haven’t actually stuck it into a sidewall yet , but I love the look and feel . The wood scabbard is awesome

I like the fact that the cover won't just fall off and possibly have an accident as you have to unscrew this one. I really like the safety of others was thought out. Highly recommend
