Just rolls on!
This stuff is great. We had leaks on our flat build-up roof. The cost to replace the roof was exponential, so we decided to try this sealant out.You can layer it as thick as you want, but be sure to follow the instructions exactly or you might encounter leaks. We also used it to seal over all of the screw heads on our metal roofed patio awning.I recommend it!

Not Water Soluble
The rubberseal did the job well. I had bubbling when doing the water test so was a bit concerned for my application. For almost all applications I believe this is a great product. It is listed as not water soluble so was my choice for product over others.I don't have a definite ruling on water solubility so please consult with the scientists before using the product.

Used on Camper Roof
TL;DR: Great stuff I put on our camper roof to waterproof and seal. Seems to work at a great price.I came on Amazon looking for FlexSeal or the Rust Oleum LeakSeal and stumbled upon this stuff with incredibly high reviews.Pricing and Packaging: I got one gallon of white and the price is pretty good when put up head-to-head with the competition. Product showed up padded inside a box inside another Amazon box.Application: I used it on a 1994 19' Starcraft camper trailer that had never been completely sealed. We bought it last year and the previous owner had a small leak spring in the back years prior that he had sealed up. The roof had been heavily caulked around all the vents and seams, but the rest of the roof had never been touched. I applied two coats of the RubberSeal--the first with a paintbrush so I could get it on thick and the second 24 hours later with a 6" mini roller from Walmart. I applied mine inside the garage, but I would wait for a few days of sun before I put it on. I also didn't bother cleaning the roof, although mine was surprisingly clean already. Results: One coat of RubberSeal didn't do a great job of covering the roof. The second coat covered it well enough that it should be fine. This only used half of my gallon jug, so I will probably roll a third coat on just for giggles. The sealant got down into all the cracks and seams of the roof and along where the metal meets the vents and just sealed right over it all. It seems like it had a good bond--I can't scratch or chip it off with my nails.Cleanup: I just tossed my paintbrush and roller cover, but it says to use mineral spirits or baby oil, which I had neither of on hand. Gasoline and paint thinner were both a no-go. Didn't touch the stuff. If I don't update this review, assume that I am 100% satisfied with the product and recommend it to all RV'ers!

Application on a new Plywood roof on a cargo trailer. tra
I have used 2 gal. on cargo trailer roof. I used 3m 5200 along with screws to seal the 1/4 in. Plywood to the trailer frame work . I have used 2 gal. to cover aprox 105 Sq. Ft. I allowed it to flash off between coats. 7 coats using a short nap roller. Application was easy. I will update if any issues arise. It appears that this product will spot repair fairly easily if needed in the future. My only regret is not using marine grade Plywood as the glue is the same but I had issues with voids in the lamination of the "CD" grade Plywood. Note : I also used polyester resin with fibreglass tape to join the Plywood sheeting at the 4ft. seams making the joints at the roof ribbing.Looks good at this time. I only want to do this once! Definitely better than the garbage sheet metal that the manufacturer used.

The truth. Read carefully
Ok, first, read the directions before you start. Clean whatever you are applying it to thoroughly or it won't stick right. It states that multiple coats will be required. People who are complaining that it doesn't work right obviously didn't read the directions. I have had this on my rv roof for 2 years now and I walk around on my roof every month to sweep it and remove pine cones and branches that fall on my roof. No problems are ever found even though stuff falls on it. I applied 14 coats-a 5 gallon bucket to my 26 ft. Travel trailer. I used a roller to apply it and yes it goes on thin. Directions tell you to apply multiple coats for maximum protection. 2 coats a day until I used it all up. I have washed my roof 4 times with a scrub brush on a pole and roof doesn't peel just comes back clean and white. This stuff works as advertised as long as you do it right. UPDATE! 3 years on my rv roof now and I am still walking on it every week, pine cones and branches still hitting it, and all is good. Doesn't need any maintenance. Read the directions first and you won't have any problems. UPDATE! Trailer went thru hurricane sandy in a campground full of pine trees and guess what, NO DAMAGE . Roof full of debris and no damage.
