Is it worth buying? Absolutely.
I like it. Is it perfect? No. The maps are on the small side for my eyes, there are a small number of miscaptioned photos, some of the photos are very poor & while they are certainly unpublished dont add all that much to the book.Is it worth buying? Absolutely. Lots of diary entries from them that was there. While maybe not 100% correct, they still give insight into the events as they happened. The good number of decent or better new photos are worth the price alone. Not having seen JJF's TK Tigers book yet, at 3 or 4 times the price I may not bother.

Very well done, lots of TK panzer photos and good information on this very elite formation that went into battle young and inexperienced, yet won glory in battle after battle.

Good Potentila needs Rewrite
I was hoping for detailed history of the Tiger Company of Nazi Germany's notorious “Death's Head: SS Totenkopf Division's Tiger CompanyHead”, that would enhance my library. What I received was a bunch of recollection from veterans with a rambling fashion structured. I agree with a previous review that the “author makes no attempt to give background or perspective to the stories”, also the maps provided are too small to be of any use. This book needs to be rewritten and the above corrections be made before I would recommend this to a reader with or without knowledge of this period. It is just a bunch of raw data that needs more perspective, in its current form it’s not worth investing in the book format, or kindle. This is regrettable since the book has good potential, if it improved in a rewrite.

An excellent read!
An excellent read!!! There are plenty of excellent photos, although there are a few which suffer quality wise. The real treat are the first person accounts. A fine effort by the author.

Not as a good as I had expected. Needs improvement in writing.
I pre-ordered the book based on the high praise over on the armour modeller's Axis forum of Missing Links. I echo the sentiments of the other reviewers here on Amazon. This book had potential but the writing was poor. The organization of the info needs restructuring. After the third chapter, the text felt like running out of steam. I am glad the book was not too expensive. I bought Fedorowicz's Totenkopf Tigers by Wolfgang Schneider. I have not read Schneider's work yet, but at a glance, Michael Wood's book has some pictures that Schneider's book does not.

A fine unit history
This book is well written, with a great many photographs that I have not seen before. The text enhances the photographs and gives them true context. If you have an interest in any aspect of Panzer warfare then I can recommend this book to you.

I have asked for a refund as I ordered this book before I saw the authors review. If the author hates it then whats the point.would have been nice to know long before now.
