Very pleased with the guitar, as a travel guitar and silent practice guitar.
I am very pleased with the Donner HUSH Guitar for what it is and the specific application I purchased it for: to have a very portable travel guitar, with a full-scale neck, available for an upcoming trip. To keep your chops up and your repertoire stage-ready, over an extended trip, it's nice to have a travel guitar that breaks down this small — only 33 inches X 6 inches in it's case. There are several options for travel guitars: including guitars where the neck folds, or very small guitaralele's which have shorter necks and usually tune to a different scale. I've owned several other travel guitars. However, I want to play in the same key and have my fingers learning and practicing the same placement and stretches as my full-size guitars. I don't want a little tiny 1/2 or 3/4 size guitar that sounds like a child's first guitar. The Donner HUSH fits the bill perfectly. The fact that it is a silent guitar with a built-in headphone amp is a plus also. Traveling in a car I can play this short headless guitar and not bother anyone else in the car, even though I can hear it in headphones better than if I was trying to practice with a traditional acoustic guitar. With the braces removed and inside it's case, the guitar is so small I can't imagine not being able to carry it on a plane, which is the main reason I purchased it.Given the relatively low price, the quality and playability seem good to me. The sound in headphones isn't as refined as the Yahmaha silent guitar, but it doesn't cost as much and it breaks down to a smaller size. I've owned 2 Yamaha silent guitars, both the nylon string and the steel string. This time I chose this over the Yamaha, because it's smaller, more affordable, and all I am buying it for is a travel/practice guitar — period. It is a piezo-based acoustic sounding instrument, not like an electric guitar powered by magnetic pick-ups. With processing from pedals, an IR loader, compression, saturation, and reverb, I'm sure the sound could be brought up to a very respectable acoustic-guitar-like quality; but I probably won't ever perform in front of people with this guitar. It's about practicing silently and traveling. Although, if an opportunity demands it, the guitar will plug into any Bluetooth speaker with an 1/8th inch input, or a regular guitar amp's 1/4 inch input, so in a pinch, you could gig with it.Having said all that, now, after owning the guitar and playing it for a few weeks, there are a few improvements that I could suggest to the manufacturer — simple, inexpensive improvements that could raise the guitar's performance and value to a much higher level. I will probably work on that wish list and submit it directly to Donner, but again, I'm happy with the guitar.

Ideal for travel practice as a beginner.
This review is of the Donner Hush Acoustic version where the passive pickup is under the bridge. I watched several online reviews before buying, most were positive and I agree that this is an excellent product and well woth the relatively inexpensive price (Under $250).First the cons...Minor, but noticeable. The fretboard feels slightly smaller than my ibanez acoutic but still close enough to be barely noticeable. The headphones cord seems to snag and pull from my ears more often than I like. The shape arms help, but the thin body makes it a little awkward to balance across your leg when playing. Recommend using provided dual-purpose strap on case for better support. The Pros...This guitar is exactly what I needed. Its small size travels easily, and setup takes only a couple of minutes. It holds its tuning fairly well and the store in body allen key makes assembly/disassembly and tuning adjustments a breeze. The provided electronic tuner is a little tricky to attach. I clip to the lower bar where the string vibrations seem to work best. The headphones are decent quality and sound good. A battery, a few guitar picks and extra screws for bar attaching are included. The case is padded, holds guitar and all accesories securely and safely. As mentioned above, the case strap performs double duty as a gutar strap also. The guitar has an amplifier cord jack, but I only use with headphones for quiet practicing. The string action height is very good. I love it and the price is great!I highly recommend thiz for beginning players where practice is a daily necessity. You won't be disappointed!

Good way to get into guitar at a low price
I like the idea of this guitar but I have serious professional instruments I much prefer playing. I took it to my luthier for adjustment and found it much more playable after she set it up, but still it is strictly a travel/camping instrument for me. It is such an interesting guitar I will keep it, but would not fret (no pun intended) if it were lost, stolen or found it's way into the hands of someone who purchased it. I find it's lightness and balance a bit difficult, but actually like the oddly shaped neck. Setting it up with the various pieces of shaped metal to make it more guitar-like is not necessary to play it. However, once it is set up with the metal frame it is easier to balance in my experience. It stays in tune and might be a wonderful instrument for a beginner. Also, the case is well made. Purchase a different battery tuner; the one provided is marginal, but at that price point...

Great Guitar!
I purchased this guitar for traveling, but I like it so much I may use it for jobs! I’m amazed at the quality and playability out of the box. I normally do a setup on every guitar I purchase, but this was setup nicely. Also the sound is great plugged into my PA. What a great value at this price point
