Addictively twisted, couldn’t put it down
The Housemaid by Freida McFadden is an absolute page-turner — dark, suspenseful, and filled with psychological twists that had me hooked from start to finish. From the first chapter, I was completely pulled into Millie’s story and the unsettling world of the Winchester family.Millie, desperate for a fresh start, accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Winchesters, but what she thought would be a new beginning quickly becomes something far more disturbing. Nina Winchester is unpredictable, manipulative, and emotionally exhausting, while their young daughter CeCe is bratty, entitled, and oddly cruel. Millie endures it all because she has to — and watching her navigate the toxic chaos inside that house is both gripping and deeply unsettling.Freida McFadden’s writing is sharp and fast-paced, with just the right amount of humor, suspense, and psychological edge. The audiobook was an excellent companion — the narrator’s Northern accent and quirky inner dialogue brought Millie’s character to life in the most entertaining way. Her self-talk had me laughing out loud at times, adding a perfect balance to the darker moments of the plot.Even though I had an inkling that something wasn’t quite right, I was completely blindsided by the why. The final plot twist was brilliant — and there’s a moment near the end, just a single line from one character, that put the whole story into chilling perspective. It left me stunned, saying, “Now that makes sense!”This book is so well done — clever, creepy, and deeply satisfying. I couldn’t wait to jump into The Housemaid’s Secret the moment I finished. If you’re into psychological thrillers with strong female leads, deliciously twisted plots, and jaw-dropping twists, this is a must-read!

addictive, fast-paced, you need to read
The Housemaid is a gripping psychological thriller that hooked me right from the beginning. The pacing is fast, the writing is easy to fly through, and the suspense makes it really hard to put down. I found myself constantly wanting to know what would happen next.About halfway through, I started to piece together the ending, so the big reveal didn’t completely shock me. Even though I guessed where the story was heading, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment—the tension and build-up kept me engaged the whole way.The characters are intriguing, especially Millie and the unpredictable Winchesters. While some of the twists were a little over the top, that’s also part of what made the book so entertaining.Overall, even if the ending felt somewhat predictable, this was still an amazing thriller. It’s addictive, fast-paced, and definitely worth reading if you enjoy dark domestic suspense.

The Housemaid
Oh Wow!!! This book is totally awesome and I enjoyed reading it from cover to cover. This book is the best psychological thriller that I have ever read. I love Freida McFadden and her books are always good but this one is excellent. This book has twists and turns that I never would have though of. I highly recommend the book to you all and I know you are going to love "The Housemaid." I sure did. Please let us know what you think.Millie recently got released from prison and now she is having a very hard time hanging onto a job of any kind. And then she applies for a job as housemaid for Nina Winchester. The Winchesters' are one of the most prominent families in this town. If I get this job I will be all set and can finally move out of my car, The house where I would be working is gorgeous and the job is an in-house position, and the pay is great. The family consists of Nina, her husband Andrew and her eight year old daughter Cecilia. And hooray Nina finally calls I got the job!I start the next day, Cleaning, cooking and occasionally taking care of Cecilia. This job is going to be easy. My bedroom is in the attic but I do have my own bathroom. Boy was I wrong about the easy job, Cecilia is a spoiled little brat and cries about everything, Nina is a night mare she has lost it and she can not be all there. The second day I am there I come down and she is destroying the kitchen all because she left her PTA notes on the counter and now they are gone. She says I stole her notes. The only good thing with the job is the husband Andrew, he is so nice and very handsome too. Will I be able to put up with Nina and all of her fits? Will she fire me? Can I ever get alone with Cecilia? And most of all can I keep Andrew off of my mind and respect that he is a married man?
