HaggarMen's Mynx Gabardine Pleat-Front Dress Pant with Hidden Expandable Waist

With a funeral coming up, I dug out my, most recent, black suit. As expected the trousers have mysteriously shrunk, in the wardrobe. Took a punt on these trousers, not really expecting much. I was very pleasantly surprised. Perfect fit. Very comfortable, and also has a hidden bit of expansion, in the waistband, should I (God forbid) gain another inch or so. The material is very smooth, with a slight sheen. A previous review mentioned difficulty in removing wrinkles. I had no problem removing the fold-lines, with a light steam-iron. Another review mentioned that the trousers had a button closure. Mine has a hook & bar + an internal button. All in all, very pleased. For £ 39, (delivered from the US, in 8 days) I have no complaints. 44waist "beggars can't be choosers". So much more flattering than the flat front, skin-tight crap that has been the "fashion" for the last umpteen years.

Like another reviewer I am into the retro swing dancing scene. Wanted to buy some pleated trousers - but nowadays they are almost impossible to get in the UK. The current fashion is flat-fronted slim trousers (including suits). It's ironic because about 10 years ago, pleats were normal. Hey ho!I looked at various brands on Amazon and chose these (from USA) because they had good reviews. I won't be dancing for the foreseeable future due to the Coronavirus pandemic. But here is my review having tried them on at home...They are quite baggy. Not ridiculous like a clown. But a bit more voluminous than pleated trousers I have bought in the past. Also high waisted compared to current styles. This is exactly what I wanted - they are very retro. But might not be what other people are looking for.I have a 34-36" waist. Not fat, but more of a spare tyre than I would like. I ordered 36" and they fit really nicely - thanks to the expanding waist. This is a brilliant feature by the way. Comfortable and totally unnoticeable. Without that feature they would probably be a tad too tight. But a 38" would be like wearing a tent.When I buy jeans I buy 31" length. 29" is too short. 31" bunch up slightly at my ankles but it looks ok. With these trousers it does NOT look ok. Material puddling around your feet looks awful. I ordered 30" but they are still a fraction too long. I will wash them and see if they shrink a bit.The quality appears to be excellent. I have seen reviews of other brands that are shoddily made. These look great.I knew the material would be polyester. They don't even do a wool/poly mix. (Is Polyester what most Americans are happy to wear???). They look quite nice. But there is a slippery quality to the fabric that screams Man-Made-Fibre. (Not silky in a nice way.)The fastening is a button, like a pair of jeans or chinos. This seems quite odd on a "proper" pair of trousers instead of hook & bar. Obviously it will be hidden by a belt - but it's still a bit strange.CONCLUSION -Apart from a few niggles these are very goodMy plan is to try buying another pair - in cotton next time. And 29" leg.

I have bought other variants of this trouser - I do buy them 29 leg and 38 or 40 waist, and the trouser bottom is around 10 inches, for me 10 inch bottoms are too baggy so I have them tapered from the knee to the ankles for a slimmer fit around 7.5 inches. I can say they are first rate trousers the internal cut and stitching is high quality as is the material which does not crease so easily. Very classy style too -

I am not sure what 'mynx gabardine' is but it is nothing like the gabardine I know, this is a lightweight polyester. If you're after 'Oxford bags' then these are pretty close, roomy in the seat with double pleated front and turn-ups. They are permanent crease which, in my case, meant many unwanted, difficult to remove, creases where I didn't want them!

A lovely product.It’s been awhile since I’ve worn pleated trousers.I was looking for a certain look for an event I’m attending.These are perfect.I will be ordering another pair of a different colour.Lovely look and feel.
