Saint Martin de Porres

good for kids

I love to read uplifting and insprational books to my kids at bedtime. They love to hear about the lives of saints after we read the Bible. It is a great story about Martin de Porres and how he devoted his life to God. However, there is one page that is halfway through the book that I had to skip because it's too scary for kids to hear at night. It goes on about how 'the evil one' visited St. Martin in his room one night and beat him up. I think the publishers should have left this page out because it is especially frightening to children. Other than that it's a good story about a good saint.
