Wall mountable, great for large adapter plugs
I purchased this item to attempt to utilize every last outlet in my office. Large adapter plugs were clogging up my traditional straight power strips and making certain ports unusable because the large plugs were partially covering otherwise usable outlets.I had previously purchased a similar power cord adapter without surge protection from another maker, and had used it in my daughter's room to negotiate the same issue. It worked well, but I decided that this adapter with its surge protection, power conditioner and relatively short cord were best for my office. I also liked that I could mount this adapter to the wall and have it hang down in back of my desk, obscuring some of the visual clutter. This device did the trick, and provides 5 surge protected outlets that are designed to be somewhat flexible (not too flexible due to the length of the cords being relatively short...) and can adapt to uneven spacing between hook-ups.This would be a great one for a workshop or a tight space like a bathroom where multiple appliance hook-ups are necessary. While it's not terribly attractive, it is functional and has features that others don't at the same price point. 5-Stars from me!UPDATE: 10/4/13After months of using this product I can now say it's one of my favorite pieces of office equipment. Versatile in a way that power strips are not, any size of plug can be easily placed on this one. I'm very happy with the design and recommend it to friends and family.

Power Surge Squid is designed just right for multiple sized device plugs. Able to handle a great deal of current w/o overheating
Love this gadget. I looked long and hard comparing the various Power Surge MULTIPLE outlets. This one is excellent since the varying size of the extension cords allow you to separate out, the different plugs from computers, lamps, even space heaters! I was surprised it didn't indicate a fuse blown when I used my space heater. But, this device is excellent. The cord to the wall is not too long or short. It's perfect to provide the flow of current needed for various devices. We have out under a sofa & kept an eye on the cables to insure they didn't become hot. THEY DON'T. The Power Squid in my estimation is a top-pick. I know, other devices include USB ports but truthfully, they're not needed as much as one would expect for a power surge extension cord outlet device. We're going to order 2 more for our other homes. Like the design

No complaints
Having used it for a couple months, there's really nothing I dislike about the PowerSquid. It's pretty sturdy. It's got a decent length cord. It's got 5 outlets, spaced out so you can plug transformers into all of them at the same time. It's got (some) surge protection. It has a recessed power button. It even comes in black or white, so it can match the stuff you're plugging in. It's reasonably priced.I guess one downside is that it's big enough that you can't exactly throw it in your backpack or briefcase, 'just in case'. But I don't know of any other sturdy, long-cable surge protectors that meet this requirement, and I didn't buy it for that purpose, anyway. This is more of a "keep one around the office" thing.I'm planning to buy another one to keep around the house, as soon as they're back in stock here.

Finally a solution to crowded power strips !
This is one of the best ideas I have seen when it comes to getting a variety of outlets that spread apart so you can hook up electrical connections independently and not have to fit them into a power strip. The variety of plug ins are odd shaped and will not work, and many are transformers which take up a lot of space and would extend beyond the width of a normal socket limiting the available adjacent connections. This Power Squid has five (5) independent terminals and a power light and switch to let you know when it is online. This is an excellent product and an answer to hooking up a lot of devices from a common grounded wall socket. The price is good too and I have Amazon Pride and get it delivered promptly when I need something in a hurry. I have bought four of these devices and they are sturdy and reliable.Get one and you will wish you had bought two or more.David Casey, CASEY ENTERPRISES, Suisun City, CA 94585

These are perfect... little pricey and bulkier than their standard strip competitor... but well worth it.
This got 4 instead of 5 stars due to price...However, I love this thing! I have other PowerSquids that I use with and without the surge protection. I find them superior to the standard strip for most electronics. Though they take up more room behind or under a piece of furniture... they are superior in letting you plug in what you want where you want it without having to consider the type of plug on the item. I was sick of the tail wagging the dog! :)I recommend this for anyone that has a need for plugging in items that have varied size plugs with or without grounding. These are perfect... little pricey and bulkier than their standard strip competitor... but well worth it.

Practicality
This surge protector does its job with the separate arms plugs it won't conflict with other plugs that are wider.

Great for projects requiring multiple power tools
This thing is perfect for working with multiple power tools. You can have everything plugged in at the same time so there’s no switching out plugs every time you switch tools. I’ve never ran more than one power tool at once, except for a miter saw and shop vac. It worked fine. I’ve also found I prefer this to my regular power strips I have inside the house. I can plug more in than I can with a regular power strip because the outlets do not get blocked by large plugs. If this thing has a surge protector, I’ll be buying more.

This thing really does reduce background audio noise!!!
I bought this as a power conditioner to reduce background noise in my bass signal and oh man oh man I was left on my ass. This thing works so well for the price and it even protect my gear as a bonus! Even better, the design is so brillant I really can use every outlet with any pedal power supply I have! It came the day after I ordered as an other bonus too! The only bad thing about it is that it was a bit dirty but after à little clean up its good as new and work so well I couldnt complain. Really the best in the market for the price. It truly changer the way I can use my gear and I absolutely love it. NO MORE HISSSSSESSS!

Very Good!
Very cool design that allows plenty of room for my bigger adapters. Not sure how well the power conditioner works; but where I live the power coming in is already quite clean. I haven't noticed any issues with the TV signal, so I'm assuming the conditioner is doing it's job.

the build quality and durability has always been great. I ordered two of this model and they've ...
I own several other PowerSquids which have served me well over the years, the build quality and durability has always been great. I ordered two of this model and they've lived up to the Power Squid name! Unlike some of the knockoffs the main "head" is sturdy and feels well built, the cables are also solid and don't feel flimsy. The power indicator light/button felt a little loose, but this has always been the case with this brand and I think it's intentional. The brightness of the light isn't overpowering, but still bright enough to tell whether it's on or off in daylight. The PowerSquid design is great, ever since I discovered them I've replaced all of my power bars/splitters. The flexibility of being able to connect adapters and cords of different sizes and at different angles gives you alot of benefits over conventional power bars. Having the outlets spaced apart means you there's no combination of cables/adapters that won't fit. The spacing also allows for better heat dispersion for power adapters which run hot. Being able to angle the direction of the outlets lets connected cables flow more naturally and avoids bending the connection points.I like the idea of mounting PowerSquids on the wall but I haven't tried it with this particular model. I wanted to keep power adapters and cables off of the ground underneath my desk but still be able to move the unit around, I ended up hanging them from a bar by the main cord and using a tiny piece of string to keep the PowerSquid in place. It ended up being both functional and not terrible to look at.My only complaint is I didn't notice from the product images but this PowerSquid is dark green in color. I was hoping for black originally, but the green color doesn't look too bad. Definitely makes it look more squid-like.

Seems to work well
This is used to connect multiple PC accessories many have 'fat' plugs that cannot fit a typical multi-outlet power bar, (monitor; external drive, speakers etc etc) from the UPS. It only takes one slot on the UPS and provides up to 5 connectionsIt has screw-head slots to enable it to be hung on the wall, but with the input coming from the top and the 5 outlets from the bottom, I could not see a way to do that tidily (if I had wanted to).

great surge protector also eliminates stereo hum
This is a great surge protector. It gives you plenty of space for all those chunky adapters, provides a good level of surge protection, and as a useful bonus it eliminated a hum in my audio system when I plugged it in.If you have a ground loop hum in your stereo (you know, that annoying hum or hissing you can hear in your stereo speakers even when nothing is playing) try this first before you buy any expensive hardware. It really worked for me.
