Perfect for my automatic coffee machine
It’s perfect for my application, best transformer I’ve ever bought. It’s quiet, sleek looking, good size, and the display of power consumption is a nice feature. I also like the simple on/off pushbutton on the top. It’s been working well for my automatic coffee machine which I use daily and occasionally use it to power other small appliances.Note that the overload protection is only useful if you correctly size the transformer for a single load/appliance. I bought the 1,600W version to power my 1,500W coffee machine and works perfect. However, when I occasionally use it to power a 400W small item, the transformer provides limited or no overload protection. The transformer is heavy and feels well constructed. I wouldn’t recommend moving it around, so its better to fix it in one location on your kitchen. I’ve also noticed my transformer getting warm/hot if I leave it on for several hours, even if my coffee machine isn’t running (no load on the transformer) so I’d recommend turning it off after each use.Price is definitely on the high end but I’ve ran through 3 ugly looking, noisy, bulky transformers in the past (one actually caught on fire) and wish I had bough this one in the first place.

Works as it should and it looks nice!
Got this for our 220v Korean rice cooker in our 110v home in the US. It's actually very heavy but it works as it should. Added bonus is that it looks nice enough to display on the counter without hiding, unlike those typical boxy industrial converters.

Great product!
I highly recommend it. Now my daughter can use her hair dryer that was purchased in France. Just make sure you buy the right wattage size for your product.

Good converter with nice low formfactor
Small, doesn't take big countertop or table... easy to use and nothing to setup.. feels great to see the power (wattage) used by any device that we connect to this 110 to 220v converter. We are using it for running some mixer grinder.

Worked great for 2 years, now won’t stay on
Update 7 Jan 2023:Still no change in item function. Since the original review (below), I tried to contact the seller via Amazon...no return message. I tried to contact the seller via the email provided in the product manual ([email protected])...no response. The phone number in the product manual is a foreign phone number in China (country code +86). The warranty card that came with the item says it has a 3 year warranty, but the seller's website (umivc.com) only says 2 years AND the buyer must pay all shipping charges but doesn't say to where (China?). No further information given. The contact number on the seller's website is a foreign phone number. Seller does not provide another way of contacting them. Through this experience, the seller has made it very clear to me that they will NOT stand by their product and have no intention of honoring the warranty. They provide conflicting information on warranty and repair, and have refused to communicate with me. I changed my rating to 1 star because of this experience.Original Review, Oct 2022:This product (1600W) was purchased in Jul 2020 and worked flawlessly for a little over 2 years, allowing me to use my Italian espresso machine in the US. Absolutely no issues, with excess power available (I bought much bigger W than required). It is very quiet, and looks respectable on the kitchen counter. Then, 2 weeks ago, without any warning or obvious issue, the item just turned off. The espresso machine was plugged in, but not turned on at the time. I unplugged the espresso machine and the converter turns on, then turns off almost immediately with no external load, no warning sounds or no abnormal screen indications. I changed kitchen outlets, and also tried outlets in different rooms, with no change in item performance. Other appliances function normally in my electric outlets so I can only reason the issue is with the converter. I have found no way to reach the seller for assistance or the seller to respond. Up until a few weeks ago I was very happy, 5 star, and would recommend this item. But now, I can not recommend from either a reliability or customer service perspective. I expect more, especially with no overload or abuse. I would reconsider if the seller would help me resolve the issue so I could use the item again.

Needed for Euro or China appliances in the US. Nice design. One minor design issue.
We got a coffee maker in Europe that we really like and they don't make a US-compatible version. The only way to use it in the US is with a voltage step-up transformer; i.e. convert 120V to 240V, with enough power capacity, at least 1000W.This one looks nice on your kitchen counter, unlike many industrial looking ones. It is silent, whether operating under high load or no load. The display shows the input voltage and the output power load in watts. It's a little expensive but at least in my case it was worth it.The toroidal transformer type is inherently quieter and more efficient than the older rectangular transformers made with flat plates, and it enables a thinner design too.The unit is somewhat heavy, and that is as it should be. For this type of application you want an AC transformer, not an electronic high frequency power supply. 60Hz transformers that can handle 1200W are inherently heavy. There is one dumb design issue, however it's easy to work around. The unit has two instances of what appears to be a Chinese standard outlet. The problem is that many or most European plugs do not fit it, notably the type with a big round plug and two round pins, because the pins are too large for the holes in the sockets. You have to use an adapter plug meant to adapt European outlets with smaller pins to a variety of plugs. Those are cheap and easy to find. With this, it works great.
