a waterproof edc flashlight that is actually bright and heavy duty.
Great boat, camping, water light that is bright. If you are looking for an actual waterproof compact flashlight, this is it. i think i will be taking this on all my camping/paddling adventures, maybe even to mexico for scuba diving/snorkeling.Pros: easily fits in your pocket for carrying around. Super heavy duty thick aluminum casing will last a lifetime. Rubber gaskets all around to seal out water. I like that it has double gaskets on the battery tube to seal out water(usually only 1 gasket on a water resistant light, this is a water proof light!). Cool magnetic switch cycles through light modes; hold to turn off. Double springs in battery tube (better for impact and fitting different length batteries. physical lockout by unscrewing cap ever so slightly (you will want to do this so it doesn't turn on by accident as the button is a bit exposed). Seperate battery charger included. Comes with Wurkkos 3000 mAh 18650, charger, spare gaskets, and a large thick paracord lanyard that is easy to grab in the water witha rubber wrist guard. Has a great throw distance and a very bright spill so it works great as a general flashlight.Cons: No usb charging due to the waterproof rating, comes with a seperate single battery charger though. (but you can do what i did and get a usb-c rechargeable 18650. to be able to charge with a usb-c cable directly without the battery charger) Its a bit heavy for water use, it will not float, so use a floaty if using on the water for regular boating. This would be good to keep on a boat, take canoeing, overlanding, kayaking. Anywhere you need a tough light that also needs to be waterproof. Use a caribiner to keep it attached to your boat, backpack, or water vest so it is handy.

Fantastic purpose built light above or below the water
On Land:I ran this as an alternative to my everyday carry Wurkkos FC12 for a week to get an idea for how it would compare against my current favorite light and the wk20s did not disappoint.Underwater:I tested this with two pool sessions against my OrcaD580If you're using this on land compare the two first pictures (this flashlight) vs the last more "flood" style throw of the FC12. One isn't inherently better or worse than the other, but it depends on what you're trying to do. The WK20s allows you to throw a little farther and focus the light and better target a specific area. For longer distances, I could make things out where the FC12 on max was beginning to fade. For crowded situations like walking into the woods at night, the FC12's less "cone" style of coverage might be preferred so as to light things up more evenly, but on max the WK20 is definitely brighter. Neither is "wrong" but for my last hike I appreciated the extra few meters of throw I got while exiting into a field. In the water, I just preferred the Wurkkos over the Orca. Both were head shoulders over any generic competition but the Wurkkos shape is much more conducive to being held and the toggle for the light vs a flat button is a welcome addition. The toggle is very smooth and easy to use while needing to go far enough in to avoid accidental depression. It's definitely larger than you'd want for an everyday pocket flashlight, but at that point it would be too small to be easily used underwater and you definitely want to have a good grip on something while swimming.

The WK20S is the perfect under water light
Just shy of six inches long and six ounces, the WK20S is powered by one 18650 battery and last almost two hours on turbo mode. It has a SST40 led that has a cct range around 5000k with an intensity of about 19000 cd. The body is made of aluminum and a very thick lense with a smooth light cup. It also has a very satisfying magnetic button and a simple to use UI that sports four light modes and remembers the last mode after being turned off.I'll be honest, I really enjoyed diving with this light. I've had other dive lights before but this one takes the cake. It's simple to use and lasts for a long time in the water. On land, it's a great mid thrower and the SST40 5000K casts a great light that is very pleasing to the eye. I'm partial to warmer looking lights and this is perfect. The hotspot is centered perfectly and allows for a great amount of spill. When first turned on, I was surprised by the sheer output of power from this little light and I was happy it had a few different modes. I kept mine on either medium or high while underwater because turbo lit up the entire lagoon we were in! I wish I could post underwater pictures but my GoPro stopped being waterproof.I was surprised how long the WK20S held a charge. I was out for hours and didn't have to change the battery once. It's surprising sturdy as well. I was dumb and decided not to wear the lanyard it comes with and dropped it a few times and it stayed on and the glass didn't crack at all.Overall, I highly recommend this light. It feels good in the hand and is very pleasing to use. Wurkkos has made another great quality light and will continue to have my business.
