Base looks like compressed cardboard.. or maybe wood. Not sure.
I bought it for salt. Looks good. It's cute and the sides and the lid is wood. But the base looks like the compressed cardboard or maybe wood, i am not sure. It's the same material that we used to have in old old exam writing pad. I am sure the base will not survive salt or water or oil.. the usual kitchen stuffs. So will be returning. But if not using for kitchen then it's pretty good.
