Corn Gluten - Natural Lawn Food and Weed Killer
Corn gluten is ideal for not only fertilizing your lawn (without burning it), but also for tamping down any nasty WEEDS! I've been using it for both purposes for years. Totally natural, no herbicides, no chemicals. A great product that feeds grasses only and "hurts" weeds!!! It's good for the soil!

Company is Righteous
Has some problems in that the package got wrecked in transit and the company made it right. I’d definitely do business with these people again. Used what was left on a weed patch and it’s working.

Didn't work
I've only got 2x10 runs and i spread it thick over those areas and weeds still came up like crazy.

no visible effect
The theory is that cornmeal will fertilize existing plans but interfere with new seed germination. That sounds perfect for keeping weeds out of landscaped areas. That's the theory. In practice, I could not tell the difference. I didn't notice better growth by existing plants, and I didn't notice a lower rate of new weeds. Maybe it works. Maybe it doesn't. Maybe I didn't put it down densely enough. But I won't be using it again.

Haven't yet used it but like natural alternatives to harsh synthetic yard chemicals that kill more organisms than necessary, not including run off after a rain. I prefer a more environmentally helpful product like this.

It
I was hopeful about this product. Having said that, I bought a 10 lb bag and the entire bag was powder. It would not come out of the spreader. I had to apply it by hand and by the time I was done, I was covered with it. The slightest breeze had it going everywhere.

NOT organic! GMO corn!!!
It's called "organic fertilizer" but instructions on the bag state "We are unable to source GMO-free corn gluten meal, so this product contains genetically modified corn gluten"! Nothing on the product page initially mentioned this, so because the company name is "Organic Fertilizer" I had assumed it was organic and scattered it on my vegetable beds. Now I have to dig up all the GMO contaminated soil and get rid of it, and start planting organic again.Update - without my requesting it, the company refunded me the cost of the product and shipping, plus they updated the product page to indicate the corn is gmo corn. I commend them for the refund and wish they had made it clear initially the corn was gmo.
