Yet another great read!
I love, love, love Jenny Colgan! Her books are warm and her story lines are fun, exciting and lovely. Add Christmas and I'm going into debt buying and reading her wonderful novels. The good thing for me is I love reading them over and over again, especially once it turns a little cold. A cup of coffee, a Jenny Colgan book and I'm in heaven. Warning: she is addictive!

Enjoyable book, especially during Christmas.
I've read two other books by this author and they were all well-writen.

A good Christmas story
Isobel and Austin suddenly are faced with challenges in their year long relationship. Austin is leaving London for New York to interview for a job in big banking. His prospects at home are not good and he has a mouthy 11 year old brother who is expelled from school that he is guardian of. Problem being he would not be accepted in another good school. Moving him to a school in N.Y. would be the answer. ....... Isobel owns a bakery and cafe in London. She has 3 capable employees and makes a fair living. The cafe is her dream come true as she is following her grandfather's footsteps who also was a baker. She does not want to see Austin go but knows he has to do what is best. Austin's big company sends for Isobel and little brother to come to N.Y. and she hates it and goes back home when she hears there are some problems at the cafe. Being apart from each other proves difficult for both of them and they reunite to work things out. I was happy that they were able to. ........This author included recipes with almost every chapter which was a nice touch, however , we in the U.S. do not measure in the metric system so all the recipes had to be skipped over by me. Makes me wonder how Isobel taught Kellie Lee to make her cupcakes. I'll say good-bye to all the holiday cafe's and tea rooms for now. It's been fun.

Revisiting these wonderful characters was a rare treat. The only negative was every time Isabel cooked I got the munchies

Magical!
I loved this story. Very well written. Just one suggestion. I like the recipes but how about adding the American style measurements in parenthesis after the English. For we lazy Americans. 😊

Favorite Jenny Colgan so far!
This was such a perfect book for me right now. Funny, sweet, heartfelt..but the storyline had me racing to the end imploring a happy ending for Issy and the entire Cupcake Care gang. Characters are superbly defined and each one was so fun to get to know. Feel as if I could wander into the cafe and hang w these old friends one day. Loved it

Almost as good a story as the first book
Absolutely delightful! Almost as good a story as the first book, which doesn't always happen.

Happy and funny
A light-hearted book dealing with real, everyday problems. A book you want to read in one sitting. Great character portrayals.

Sparkling, suprising, warming, tasty ...
I laughed, sighed, enjoyed, savoured, cried, loved this book. And if you read it before Christmas, your holidays will get a special light and warmness. You get a great wish to bake something great to those you love, and if not bake, then do something really special! The only thing I can recommend, read and enjoy this book, and then share it with your best friend. This is what I am doing. The book is ready for my best girlfriend, my niece, to pick it up.
