Has anyone used these on the back of a glossed door?

No not on glass but other surfaces which turned out to be not brilliant kept falling off

If i put these on a ceiling would the hook hang vertically so it would hold a clothers hanger?

The hooks are fantastic for smoth walls and tiles. Never used them on ceiling
