Update after 4 months of use: I am seeing some definite whitening effects. I have some yellowing that is not really staining as it is just a sign that my teeth are aging (I'm 53) - I think it's just the dentin layer of my tooth naturally aging, and because my enamel is thinning (also due to aging) you can see more of the yellowing dentin layer. None of the typical whitening treatments can really help with this. But I've seen a HUGE improvement after using this toothpaste, so while I was skeptical at first, I think it might actually be rebuilding enamel. My teeth are noticeably less yellow and I haven't changed any other part of my routine except this toothpaste.Original review:Yes, it’s weirdly, extremely salty.And yes, you get used to it.I knew by the second day of using it that I wasn’t going back to my old toothpaste. I can’t see any “remineralization” effects, I’m not sure that’s really a thing, and my teeth don’t seem to whiter as others have reported, but just for the way it makes my teeth and mouth feel so very clean, I’ll keep using it.If fluoride is important to your dental routine, you might want to use a mouthwash with flouride in it as this doesn’t have any.

Had to get used to the taste but removes tartar n really cleans my teeth.

I love it. Real ingredients and useful nontoxic ones at that. No lab experiment bs but legit good for your mouth ingredients. A little strong at first but after a few times you get used to the strong flavor. Mouth feels clean and sensitive or bleeding gums go away after a few uses. Used to do salt rinses when i had sensitive gums to get rid of the bleeding but now theres no need to. This ain’t your colgate or crest toothpaste nor your pretend healthy toothpaste from your favorite health food store. It’s a no nonsense, actually good for you punch in the mouth

This is the best toothpaste and the Anise flavor is the best. Peppermint is too strong, Cinnamon is very strong, and the plain is bland. I don't know why Natural Grocers stores won't carry Anise flavor. I have tried to get it but they will only stock the other flavors. Anise is mild and has a very clean flavor. The only thing I would say is that retailers sell this product for$5.99 or $6.99 but it's $9.99 on Amazon. So I marked the value for money as low here. The toothpaste lasts a long time and you don't need a lot.

This is suuuper strong! My teeth feel very clean after but it is so hot/spicy/minty. It feels like it burns a layer of skin off my tongue. I'll try the other flavor after I use both bottles but I'm a little scared cause I read this was the milder one.

I've been using Uncle Harry's anise toothpaste for years. It does a great job of cleaning your teeth, I never have any plaque build up at my dental cleanings.The last two times I ordered, I had to have replacements sent as the top jar in each order had a broken lid. They aren't packing them well, so the simplest drop means bye bye lid.

This toothpaste is amazing! We switched to using Uncle Harry's almost a year ago and our dental health has improved tremendously. Before using Uncle Harry's I was told by my dentist that I was probably going to need FIVE fillings at my next visit. Starting using Uncle Harry's and at my next visit, no fillings were needed!!! In addition to improved dental health, it makes your teeth feel so smooth and clean - no more gritty, dirty feeling teeth. If you are using regular toothpaste, look at the ingredients - not only are you using fluoride which is horrible for your teeth (do some research)but you are brushing your teeth with soap and SUGAR (sorbitol or xylitol)!!!! Uncle Harry's toothpaste as all natural ingredients including minerals which help your teeth. It does take some getting used to as it will not foam up like regular toothpaste due to the lack of soap (sodium lauryl sulfate). You don't need very much of the toothpaste to get the job done - just a small pea-size portion - so the jar will last a long time (mine lasts for about 2 months). The flavor can also be a bit strong for some. I suggest starting with the peppermint flavor.
