This is perfect for my husky golden retriever. He broke two other leashes so we need something extra tough. This works great.

We have owned large dogs for years. All of the finest trainers 30 years ago said you had to have a good quality leather leash to train. This new generation of trainers prescribes to a different thought, but I do not think it is thei fault. All of the large chain stores just do not cary a selection of leathe3r leashes anymore. So when I saw these I had to have a set.The quality is great, but the narrow udth (left to right) surprises me. Products I used years go were twice as wide. Maybe this is just better leather. I notice the dogs have no interest in chewing this leather, unlike the products I used to use. So maybe it is a better grade of leather?Like others I wish the short leash had a hand hokd. I know my grip is not good enough to hold back one of our big brude without a loop to hold onto. That flat leather strip will just slide right out of my hand if one of the gang pulls on it.

Being from Ohio and not far from Amish Country I had to have these leashes! I know the quality work the Amish produce and these leashes show that same quality and craftsmanship. It is rare to find USA made items so anytime I can support a local small business or even an American one, I'm all for it!The leather that these leashes are made from blew me away, as the thickness, smell and quality overall were stunning! We are big breed dog owners, St Bernard, Presa Canario, Anatolian Shepard and an American Staffordshire mix. Our next dog will be a South African Borebeal so yes we know big powerful dogs and the need for quality Collars and leashes. These leashes are extremely impressive, however as for the shortest one I can not for the life of me figure why it does not include a handle??? What is the point? An added rivet to this lead with a handle would make it perfect to keep a big dog close. We travel to Amish County often and would be willing to bring it to the business to have a rivet added to the short leash so I could be useful. If you are in need of a quality leash, look no further as this small business does their thing well!

Wow! This is the real deal, folks!!! I REALLY like this Amish Made Super Heavy Duty Leather Military and Police Training Leash. It is incredibly well made in Ohio, with very high quality leather and 100% SOLID brass fittings. (Note: No inexpensive brass-plated hardware are used on this leash. All of the fittings are made out of solid, pure brass.) Wow!As soon as I opened the package, I was very impressed. The leather is ¼ inch thick, and the overall quality of the leather is outstanding. The leather even smells good. This is indeed a very robust and strong leash! Even a very large dog will easily be restrained by this braided leather leash.The leash is handmade, and it feels like something that was made way back in the 1950s. It gives me GREAT pleasure to know that this leash is made in the USA. And the best part is the small business owner is a disabled military veteran.I am attaching a few photos that I hope are helpful to you. If you have any dog lovers in your family, this would make a wonderful present for them.Cons:o My only Con is that the highest number of Stars I can give it is only 5. If I could do so, I would give it 10 Stars!!! Yes, this leather and solid brass braided training leash is really that good.Summary: This leash is as good as it gets. I give it 5 Stars. Buy it!

we use this for our great dane and have no isues. very strong and durable and would be great for any sized dog but may be too much for small dogs. made really well and looks good

My dog doesn't even notice that he's wearing a leash with the medium or short leashes in this set.This company also sells these leashes individually, and if I had to pick one and only one, I think I'd go with the longest of them. It's exactly what you need from a dog leash, and nothing more. No fancy bells and whistles. Nothing that can break or wear out. Just a beautiful leather leash with hardware that will outlast us all.
