Question - i purchased one of these and love it.. is the material pretty much weatherproof? is it ok to stay out in rain and sun for long duration?

Great question. We certainly use high quality fabric and rubber, so if you're talking about a road trip where you're going to have cargo tied down for several days as you cross the country, that's NOT a problem. Now, STORING it out in extreme weather is probably not a good idea. Even high quality fabrics and rubbers will break down over time when left out in the heat of the sun. I just wouldn't store it somewhere that it will have sun and rain beating down on it for weeks and months at a time.

what size are the carabiners? I want to make sure they will attach properly to my hauling platform. Too small won't work.

Small and won't clip on my roof basket. I could just use some ziptie to clip the carabiners on.

Okay, so i am a very small person (5'2), is this tight enough that if i had it on with nothing under, it would support me like a hammock?

Well, that's half the story.....If you probably weigh less than 250 pounds you could get away with it....

Will this work on a 2018 Silverado short box crewcab?

It should work great. I've got a 8' box on my Silverado and this cargo net fits anything I can put in it. The fastening D clips are totally adjustable on the net for any length or width you want. The 6' bed should not be a problem at all. I highly recommend this cargo net.
