Works well
Sticks well even on dirty surfaces and easy to apply. A bit too expensive for what it is.

Glue not brilliant
Fine , decent rope but self adhesive strip not very good. Ending up supplementing with better fire glue to ensure stayed in place.

The adhesion is poor.
Flat Self Adhesive Stove Rope.Length 2m x Width 10mm in my opinion equality isn't quite there and adhesion is also quite poor I ended up using fire cement instead. This did however come in handy for my homemade Pipe heater which doesn't get as quite as hot as my wood burning stove and so far it's working quite well.

Simple sealing
Anyone who has had a solid fuel stove for any length of time will have had to replace the fire rope seals from time to time unless they got in the help to do this job. If you did get help in, then you likely won't need to do so in future.Start by throwing away the traditional stove rope and glue, this self-adhesive fire rope is so simple to use I doubt you will want to go back.Remove the existing and life expired sealing rope from the stove. Clean the channel this sits in with a light sanding using abrasive paper. All you need do is get a clean dust free surface.Cut this rope to the correct lengths, peel off the protective backing film to expose the sticky material then still the rope into place. Once done shut the door tightly and ensure the adhesive has made contact all around. That's it!I found it so much quicker and easier to use and was ready to use the stove as soon as I had fitted the new rope.I think this simple innovation is really helpful and makes changing the stove seal a doddle and not something I would tend to put off.

Decent stove rope, but it seems very costly for what you get.
My wife has mentioned that she sometimes feels our oven door isn't sealing shut as well as it might do, and so when I saw the stove rope I thought that would do the trick. I think for most doors it would work fine but I am not convinced it's the solution for our particular oven door. You get 2mtrs and I thought that would be plenty long enough. It actually is long enough but there is only about 4 inches to spare when chasing around the perimeter of our oven door. To allow for cutting errors I think a little more length might be useful as our oven isn't a particularly large one. I would suggest that you measure the exact length of the four oven door glass edges to make sure the rope will suffice. The rope itself seems quite loosely woven - maybe that's normal but I did expect it to be a denser weave. The fitted self-adhesive backing seems very sticky indeed and should adhere to the glass very well, although I am not sure over time how the adhesive will fare with the heat and grease of normal oven usage. As it happens I have had to re-think the situation because I hadn't noticed that the oven seal on our oven sits inside the area of the glass door (especially at the bottom), but more importantly at the corners the existing silicone/rubber door seal has very rounded corner shapes. This means that because the rope is effectively straight I might introduce more gaps if I try to bend the rope around the corners in order to match the silicone/rubber oven door shape. Again, this is something you should check on your oven before ordering.Overall this isn't a bad product, but it seems quite expensive (although I guess it might be considered to be a slightly niche market and so that might explain the cost).

Sticks well easy to use
This stove rope is just the job. I have used it on my log burner to seal the opening door. The fire rope is 2m long and has an adhesive side once the backing is removed making it really easy to fit. Just cut to length and stick in position.I was a bit dubious about the rope remaining stuck and being able to cope with the heat, think it would melt the adhesive and just fall off, however I can say this really works it has remained stuck really well and remains in position. It work great and for under ten pounds will last me a few seasons as I have sufficient left over to replace it all again.Would recommend.
