Let’s not talk about this reel being good “for the money.” That makes it sound like you’re settling for an inferior product because you’re limited by your budget. Instead, just know that this is an excellent baitcaster!I recently decided to upgrade after fishing for a while with several Abu Garcia Black Max reels. The Black Max is a good reel (possibly the best beginner reel ever), but I wanted a metal frame and a little bit better quality. After my research, it seemed like there were several good choices in the $99 range, and the Fuego CT was one of those. But then I saw it on Amazon for $70, and I just couldn’t pass it up!So what does the Fuego CT have to offer? Well, this reel is basically a Tatula CT, minus one bearing and the T-Wing system. So you’re getting all the other goodies that come with the Tatula CT: an aluminum frame, the carbon drag, and Daiwa’s amazing Magforce Z breaking system! Throw in your choice of three gear ratios, and the Fuego CT is one of the best upgrades on the market for the weekend angler!Sounds good on paper, but what about the actual experience? Believe me, it’s good. The drag is plenty powerful for any bass you’ll catch. And it casts amazingly well. It’s super smooth, and backlashes are rare. In fact, if I backlash now, I know it’s because of some mistake I made, not the reel. Overall, it’s an impressive reel. Very palmable, light, strong, and easy to operate. And Amazon’s price makes it irresistible!So, now I have 2 of them! I bought the 6.3:1 gear ratio for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. I loved it so much, I bought the 8.1:1 gear ratio for worms, jigs, and frogging. They are both fantastic! Buy one, and you will not be disappointed!Edit: I’ve used my Fuegos consistently for a few months now. They are still amazing! I keep moving them to different rods for different applications, which means of course, that I need to buy more of them! Love these reels! In my opinion, the best weekend angler reel on the market!

I personally love this reel. I think that it is exceptional quality for the price. I have not caught a fish on it yet, but have spent a good deal using it. I paired it with a piscifun torrent med/m fast 6.8" rod which I think made a perfect pair. This is my first real baitcaster that worked, I had been given a used one by a friend that didn't work out. I wish that the button was easier to press, but overall I am enjoying it. Worth the price.

Very smooth casting and good spool braking. Took me a few casts to get dialed in and not backlash/bird nest but once I got used to the reel very easy and enjoyable to use. I think the only reason it took me a bit is I learned to fish with spinning reels and been using those for 30+ years and relatively new to using baitcasters. Otherwise an excellent reel and very much worth the investment. Have used in bad weather and have set down in the dirt with no issues as a result. Caught plenty of decent sized fish and this reel handled them well. My only mistake was that the first one I bought was right handed retrieve vs left and lost a few fish as a result. Highly recommend this one as it’s one of my favorite reels.

IMHO this is the best baitcast reel you can buy for the money. I have reels costing many times what this reel costs, and in most instances you get what you pay for, but the Daiwa Fuego CT is the exception to that rule. This reel fishes far above it's price point. I should say that I have never been a fan of magnetic braking in a casting reel - until now. The new Magforce-Z is a huge improvement over other manufacture's magnetic braking systems. It's even better than Daiwa's original Magforce-Z.The reel's compact size palms nicely, it's lightweight and yet feels and performs very solid. And it is available in 3 different gear ratios to fist just about any fishing application.Yes, it is missing some niceties, like bearings in the handle knobs and a nice paint job like you will find on more expensive reels but I can't honestly find a single fault with this reel. And at the current sale prices here on Amazon this reel is a FANTASTIC buy.Whether you are a beginner to baitcasing reels or a seasoned professional looking to add some inexpensive but high quality reels as a backup you owe it to yourself to give the Daiwa Fuego CT a shot.

I have several Daiwa Fuego CT reels and I really like them all. I mainly wanted this high speed reel for jigs and plastic worms. I fish from the bank a lot and getting the fish away from blow downs and other structures quickly can be critical. Bass can rush towards you or wrap themselves around a stump in the blink of an eye it seems. The faster 8 speed gives you a slight better chance to land a fast runner. These reels are well built, a pleasure to fish with and I believe if taken care will last for many years.

My first bait caster was the black max which is alright I guess, But I knew I wanted to upgrade as soon as possible so I decided to look into the 80-100 dollar range for reels and I found this in 8:1 and the kastking royale legend In 7.3:1 and let me just say this reel makes the Royale legend Look like a kiddie reel from Walmart. This thing can do every thing that A 200 or so dollar caster can do apart from maybe skipping which is an advanced skill that doesnt necessarily catch fish in my opinion. I invested In two curado dcs recently and although flashier and maybe a little bit prettier :), this fuego ct can hang with them. If your a intermediate fishermen who is trying to learn about bait casters, here is my word of advice to you: its more about the rod than reel pairing a black max with a 250 dollar rod will make the black max feel nice but the other way around (expensive reel with cheap rod) is just wasting your money, so my word of advice is buy a reel like this and then a 100 dollar rod or so such as the abu garcia veritas casting rod and don’t worry about buying a flashy reel quite yet.

I replaced an old reel with this Daiwa reel because the drag started slipping. This reel is smooth and works perfectly for my needs and drag is tight for punching.

この値段でこの性能、満足してます。PE1.5号にリーダーフロロの14ポンドで使用しています。ロッドの硬さはMですが7gから20g位のルアーなら快適に使えています。剛性もあり、巻き心地も問題ありません。マグネットブレーキもしっかり効いてくれます。あくまで個人の感想ですが、初心者にも安心して使えると思います。

The best bang for the buck. This reel is easy to set up and cast. It is essentialy a Tatula CT without the T-wing line guide. The magforce-Z magnetic breaking system is one of the best.
