Fun for the whole family
Bought this as a requested Christmas gift for my 19 yr. old niece. She didn't designate which version she wanted. Never having played this again, I bought the "Decades" version hoping we could play it over Christmas while she was visiting. Our family ranges in age from the youngest being 13 and the oldest 58. This Decades version was perfect for our family as we divided into 2 groups of 4 players, each group made up of varying ages. Although all of the adults have college degrees, we still found some of the words challenging, which was great. The adults had the best success with the 70's and 80's categories while the younger kids had success with the 2000's. Being able to change categories during the game made it fun for everyone. Of all the versions, the "Decades" version seems to work the best for teams of different ages.

Fun variation of catch phrase to add to your arsenal!
Works perfectly and easily, I do wish there was some sort of off button so I could take it on trips without it randomly turning on in my bag!I am 30 and going to the 70s and 80s ones were rough for me but my parents thrived! Fun to be able to switch between the different ones though to give different people the advantage! Also all the electronic catch phrase games seem to have similar amounts of words so if you like to skip, you'll start to see similar words after a handful of games. Our solution was to buy a few of the different models but I would love if Catch Phrase would make a way to update them or something.

Fun, but Incorrect Decades
Fun game, but the decade categories do not match the topics given. For instance, we were playing last night and the 90's category provided the movie titles "Joe Dirt" and "Blackhawk Down," both of which came out in 2001. Again, fun game, but whomever aligned the words/phrases with the decades was way off the mark.

Great go-to game when you have a crowd
This game is a standard of my family's at gatherings. It is an easy game to get everyone engaged and talking. I had an original one that we pulled out on Christmas that just wouldn't reset correctly so immediately purchased a replacement. First...the original was at least 10 years old so quality of product is good. Just a good game to have on hand when you have a group of people over.

newer of the older
We play catch phrase at all of the family gatherings. The previous game we were beginning to know all the answers so winning was not the issue repeats were. We have the Star Wars addition as well. just adding the newest addition to our fun. Compact, easy to use , lots of fun

Best Game Ever
We as a family play catch phrase every Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is a game for all ages. If the little ones need help we guide them and continue on. Our old game broke so we bought the new upgrade. Much better. Everything is digital. It keeps score, timer and touch of a botton to change words ect. Best game ever

Fun Taboo Alternative!
I, surprisingly, enjoyed this game. We’ve played for hours and thanks to the simple rules, we’ve been pretty creative with how we played. The only downfall is the cheap design, which makes it a little fragile.

LIKED OLD CATCH PHRASE GAME
I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE LIKE THE OLD GAME WHERE YOU FIT WORD CYLINDERS INTO THE GAME CHAMBER--MY GRANDDAUGHTERS PLAY ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE OLDER FAMILY. WE LOVE THE OLD GAME AND I EXPECTED CYLINDERS WITH A TOTAL OF 5000 WORDS BUT INSTEAD IT WAS ELECTRONIC WITH WORDS THAT THE GIRLS NEVER HEARD BEFORE. FOR INSTANCE, THE 7O'S FIRST WORD WAS "KIM BASINGER" THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THAT PERSON. I WOULD HAVE ONLY USED MANY YEARS AHEAD OF THIS FOR THEM TO PLAY. AND AS MANY OF OUR FAMILY PLAY THAT IS OLD ENOUGH AND THEY LOVE THE GAME. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
