I bought this as a present to my daughter. The details are very cute and the chair adjusts up and down. She loves it and it has held up.

I’m hopeless at putting things together! When my grandniece (9 years old) needed help, I was not helpful, but her father had it together in one minute! It fits the American Girl doll well, but if the doll isn’t in the chair perfectly, the strap doesn’t reach. With that said, the Velcro holds well once it is connected. This chair helps kids tremendously, in styling the doll’s hair!!!

Make sure if this is a present, even for someone in your own family, you say it’s a gift. Daughter heard the doorbell, looked outside and said hey Mommy someone got me a salon chair for my dolls! Soooo, thanks Amazon for ruining that surprise. Also, the strap just barely holds our “our generation” doll in.

This was a big hit with my 9 year old who quickly retrieved her dolls while I set it up. She instantly started playing "salon". I see it getting a lot of use. Make sure you have a small screwdriver on hand as there are 2 tiny screws included. Other than that it's a "snap" to install.

Seriously, this is a great unit if you have an American girl doll. My daughter went from styling her dolls hair to braiding her older sisters hair within days. I kid you not!! This is a cool little set up. Pretty well built but I wouldn't suggest putting a lot of weight on it to try and test the strength. Good amount of items for the money as well.
