A Book That Takes Its Time: An Unhurried Adventure in Creative Mindfulness (Flow)

I saw this at Michael's and decided to grab it on Amazon because it was cheaper. This book is such a treasure. It really helps you to have some self-care, me time on a budget. It is BEAUTIFUL, the art work and paper craft goodies are so sweet and fun. I love that there are things to take out and poke in envelopes and fill out and share. It's crafty and also kind of like a journal, and also has some great articles in there to read as well. I bought one for me and then decided to buy one for a swapping friend of mine, too. She also loves it!

I never review things I buy on Amazon (or any other place for that matter) but I did want to take the time to share a review for this one. I came across this book at Michaels last year, it instantly called my attention, but as many other books I buy I left it untouched in my shelf for a few months. When I picked it back up I had started doing the 5 am club routine and this became my scape space every morning and my favorite activity. It has so many different crafts and readings to increase creativity, reach your inner child and really be able to “enjoy the moment”. This is the third time I’m purchasing it as a gift for my friend. I absolutely loved it and it’s worth every penny if you have the time to spend it on yourself

I saw this book on Instagram. A friend had received a copy for review, and I was quite intrigued by her images, and her review of this book. I purchased it right on the spot. This book is colorful, sturdy, filled with so many cute unexpected surprises, but it’s also mature. It’s not something you would buy for a child . The “exercises” in this book really helped me out during a time in my life when I needed some self reflection, and I needed to kick myself in the butt. The title is quite appropriate. You definitely want to take your time going through this book, reading it, doing the exercises, basically you want to absorb it and the lessons it teaches you. My suggestion is to read through it first, bookmark at the areas of interest to you – no matter where they are at in the book-, then go back and proceed from there. You do not have to go through this book in order. If Chapter 1 then chapter 10 appeals to you then by all means proceed at that pace. If you are in any type of support group or have one or two friends going through similar paths in life, this would be a great “group book“ Gather once a week and do the exercises together. Sometimes an outside view/opinion/ hearing other people share add a unique perspective . What I love about this book is it is perfect for individual or groups, you can take it as a lighthearted or as serious as you want to, or both, the excercises will have you thinking and feeling. This book unleashes a fun creative side while helping you heal & deal with life.

This book is not only beautiful in its art and aesthetic, but has so much substance as well. With so many interactive activities and writing prompts, post cards, and so much more, it really helps in slowing down to reflect, and enjoying life on a deeper level. Whereas I bought a copy as a gift a while back, I’ve also more recently received a free copy from Workman Publishing in exchange for a free and unbiased review, and I was delighted because it truly is a joy to work (and play) through!

Arrived quickly in excellent condition as advertised. I love all things FLOW. They write very inspirational creative books.

I’ve gifted this book twice now for friends who lost loved ones recently. They both loved it. I have one for myself that I like just to slow down and focus on something meaningful during my busy days. I love the little projects on the articles, and the postcards which I use, and they pull outs. This is a great gift. Worth every penny.

Eu estou amando! É um livro para ver com calma, aproveitar cada página, cada imagem, colocar em prática. Uma papelaria incrível, vários mimos dentro. Certamente um presente que me dei, mas pode ser um lindo presente para outros.
