Excellent Source for Machievelli Especially for Those Who want to Get at the Real Italian Text
I am a translator of Italian Literary Texts, especially Montale and Dante. I'm working on a new version in verse of Divina Commedia, have published a verse translation of Montale's Ossi di Seppia, and am finding the edition of The Prince particularly helpful. I hope to do a new translation of the text that is both completely accurate and clear and vivid for the reader. This is a terrible translation. While it's nice to have the Italian alongside the English, my professor was constantly pointing out mistakes in the verb tenses and description (i.e. nation-state, a concept that didn't yet exist as of Machiavelli's writing).
