Cute toy but do NOT pay full price
Edit: My daughter has had this toy a little over a month and still enjoys playing with it. Sadly the Mixie creature no longer works as it should. When you press its tummy it doesn’t do anything and won’t do the yes or no fortune telling. It still turns on, but just isn’t responsive. It hasn’t been played with roughly or even excessively (well at least not after the first few days, which did involve pretty excessive play) so it’s somewhat disappointing that it’s already not working. My daughter loved the fortune telling feature. The most important information I feel should be provided about this toy is that spending $90 on it is ridiculous. My aunt found this exact toy at tj maxx for $30 and purchased it for my daughter. For $30 I’d say it’s a good value, but I’m seeing other colors and this specific version listed anywhere from $80-$90 and that’s baffling to me. I’ve seen some other versions/sizes in the $50 range, and even that is just too much in my opinion. My daughter was given this toy for her 5th birthday. We have only had it two days, but both she and my newly 3 year old son are obsessed. They have already played with it for hours. They woke up this morning and it was the first thing they wanted to do and have been taking turns casting the spell and revealing different toys that they already have (as well as re-revealing the mixie itself). The first time we completed the spell, it seemed like a lot because there are six different spell casting steps and I wasn’t sure how accurate you needed to be with the wand movements. As it turns out, you don’t really need to worry about the accuracy of the movements or really even the color of the wand. Which is perfect for my young kids because there’s some wiggle room for error. Basically they wave the wand up, down, and then in the middle and when the crystal ball and button glows green they press a button on the wand to move to the next step. The crystal ball moves to the green part of each sequence regardless of how erratic my children’s wand movements are. So as long as you press the purple button on the wand each time the crystal ball and button turns green, you can move to the next step and eventually have your mixie or whatever toy you put in revealed. My kids did need my guidance on the spell sequence the first several times, but eventually got the idea that once the crystal ball/button turns green they just have to press the button on the wand and they can now independently reach the end result. They wanted to be sure they were doing the wand movements properly (even though it doesn’t seem to matter), and I didn’t want to take the fun out of that part for them so I just guided them through each time until they got the hang of it. They can also put in other toys and start the sequence over on their own after doing it with my guidance several times. There will definitely still be times where adult troubleshooting may be required. At least with my kids at their ages of 3 and 5. I’m sure their will be times where toys don’t disappear properly or emerge properly and I’ll have to help.We didn’t have any issues with the functionality of this toy. It worked as intended, created the fog, and revealed the mixie and toys that we reset in it over and over again. It flashes different colors and makes fun little sounds to go along with the spell and reveal. I will say that the wand doesn’t always glow in the specific way that the directions indicate it should when completing the spell steps, but as mentioned before that doesn’t change the progression of the spell. So I would advise not even worrying your kids about the color of the wand tip.The mixie itself is cute enough. It’s a small stuffed animal. It has a wire within its tail and arms to be repositioned as desired. It’s fuzzy, but I would say it’s cuddly. It has glowing gems on its forehead that change colors to indicate different spells or answers in fortune telling mood. My daughter really enjoys the fortune telling mode in which you basically just ask yes or no questions. The spell and game mode are pretty underwhelming and I’m not really sure what the point is. Regardless, my daughter seems to be pretty enamored by it.Overall my kids have really enjoyed playing with this toy in the short time that we have had it. It was super exciting for them and they have had a ton of fun. I’m not sure how long the excitement will last once we have had it for a longer period of time. I have a feeling it will be a toy that I put up for a month or two at a time so that it has the potential to be exciting again when I take it back out. It’s definitely worth the $30 that was spent on ours, but I wouldn’t spend anymore on it. At the end of the day, it’s a toy. While it has been fun for my kids, it will eventually lose it’s novelty and I just can’t imagine spending the amount that I have seen it listed for in stores like target or here on Amazon. My best advice…. Check your local tj maxx or Ross if you really have your heart set on getting this toy.

Defective
I ordered this for my daughter's birthday and it wouldn't work. I tried all the trouble shooting and it still didn't work. I got a refund but they would not send me a new one and the price has quadrupled. Very disappointed
