The numbers are under a piece of plastic that makes the number mostly hidden until selected. The ball must be held directly in front of you to read the number easily.

How do you tell a 9 from a 6?

For the raffle ball, we use an underline to differentiate between a 6 and a 9. That means it shows 6 or 9 with an undeline on the raffle ball. Hope this helps.
