Not possible to put it on a timer.
The light itself is fine, slick looking, bright, really compact which is great, huge range of colour choices and can have white and coloured LEDs on at the same time to give your daylight a blue, red, green or magenta tinge. Brightness is nice and variable in multiple steps, low energy usage, seems like everything you could want for a planted nano aquarium. However from a usability point of view it's terrible, there is no integrated timer function to switch it on and off automatically, which is fine, maybe that is a more premium feature and this light isn't expensive after all. However you can't even plug it into a timer or smart plug and have that turn it on and off, because (and here is the mind bogglingly stupid part of the design) every time the light loses power from the plug (rather than being switched off on its own controller) it forgets what state it was in before the power was turned off. So it goes back to its default state which is powered off by its own controller and set back the first colour in the options which is blue. So your timer plug turns it off, at night then back on again in the morning but the light remains off, so you press the power button and it's blue and you have to cycle through the options again to get back to your preferred daylight setting.Functionally this means the only way to use the light is to turn it on and off manually each morning and evening which makes it a real pain in the ass the use and makes it utterly useless if you ever go away for a day or two. Even lying in late one day means your fish get less daylight that day.Literally every other aquarium light I've ever owned (and that's a lot), from tube lights way back when to LEDs has either had an integrated timer or the ability to put it into a timer plug, it's just a basic function of running an aquarium and sadly makes this otherwise excellent light all but useless.

Nifty little light !
This little light is perfect for small aquariums , looks the part and very neat . Only thing is I have had to slightly modify the clamp and drill a hole for the screw to go in from the back of the clamp . This enabling the glass top to fit flush on to the cube . Apart from that I am pleased with the overall design , it is a perfect little light , with variable light settings and colours if you want . P.s it’s cheap to run 😉
