Save your money
I just got this outdoor rug/mat and it’s got several places where it’s already falling apart. I haven’t even walked on it yet. Sending back for a refund. I bought the large 9x12 and I’m very mad I wasted my time or energy on this!!

Good for Travel, Not for Home Decor
Two recommendations I'd make for deciding if this item is right for you:1. Are you going to be using it at campsites, parks, etc.?2. Do you want a rug made of plastic straw, that's built to be stored? If you answered yes to those questions, your rating will likely be higher than mine. If you answered no, this may not be your ideal purchase. The straw is comfortable to walk on, and provides colors which are true to the photos. Apart from that, I'd note that the non-slip factor is very hit or miss; meaning this isn't something that sticks to the floor (or even lays flat) by design. Because the item is built for storage, the folding lines genuinely do not flatten out of this item. It's easy to clean dirt off of it, but the smallest bit of grass (and the like) stick to it like nobody's business. Lastly, while the item can technically be reversible, it's obvious that one side was meant to be the bottom; since one side shows where the plastic was melted to make a closed seam (and the one I received is not an evenly-kept seam, causing the item to not be perfectly rectangular). You might eyeball this quickly, think it looks nice, but not realize it's made of plastic straw and won't flatten completely at the folds. If you're one of those buyers, I'd recommend looking closely at the photos of the item, and determining if you truly have use for it. If you're in the market for a travel rug though that feels good to walk on, and you don't mind some imperfections, then you'd likely give this higher marks. The price is fair if you're planning on outdoor use. But I can't suggest this to anyone who would hope to use it as home decor.

Lightweight mat best used for travel
This lightweight mat is versatile and can be used on an outdoor deck, at picnics or at the beach. It comes with a decent carrying case for travel. It’s made from woven plastic and very lightweight. If used as a deck mat, it should be anchored down in multiple places, or a stiff breeze will cause it to slide or roll up. Consider the dimensions if you’re planning on using it on your deck: with patio furniture, the rectangle should be large enough. I planned on putting it under my outdoor patio table and chairs, but the chairs on two sides hung off of it.I did not give this mat five stars because, due to its plastic makeup, it gets very warm if left outdoors in direct sunlight. I’m using it for my deck and was hoping I could walk on it barefoot, but it was uncomfortably hot. It would be best used for picnics in the shade or when wearing shoes. For outdoor applications, it does handle rainwater well: I tried pouring water on it to see if it would drain and it gradually did. Leaving it outdoors should be fine.

Great outdoor picnic rug!
I got this to use on my back porch as an outdoor rug but it won't work well for this purpose. Reason is it is a plastic-type of woven material, very lightweight and doesn't stay in place as a porch "rug", especially with the Oklahoma winds. What it will work GREAT for are trips to the park, lake, ball games or anything like that as a mat to keep you and your items off the ground. It came with a zippered carrying case to make travel super easy. It is also reversible so you can use both sides. It is a water-proof material so it won't absorb water or hold dirt and sand making cleaning and packing very easy! I would highly recommend this for picnics and outdoor events!
