Hi, would this be appropriate to put on top of plant pots (full of compost) to retain moisture a bit better?

Hi Nicki, I use it on my garden where my greyhound has stripped my lawn to control the mud. I see no issues with you using it on plant pots as a mulch, its quite fine material about 50mm long or less. You will still need to water your plants though.

Can this product save my climbing rose ,infected with black spot? Thinking of spreading it around a tall rose before I start cutting it down, ?

As blackspot is a fungus disease that is very diverse with new strains arising rapidly, it can be very difficult to prevent and treat. Research suggests avoiding pests, diseases and weeds by good practice in cultivation methods, cultivar selection, garden hygiene and encouraging or introducing natural enemies should be the first lone of control. If chemical controls are used, they should be used only in a minimal and highly targeted manner. Collect and destroy fallen leaves in the autumn or bury under a thick layer of mulch - so layering Strulch over leaves will assist with this. If practical, pick off and dispose of any leaves that remain on the plant over the winter months.

Can this be used to grow Mushrooms 🍄?

No. It is a mulch that improves soil and suppresses weeds. You need compost or mushroom compost or straw and manure.

Very good.

I’ve been using it to try and keep some moisture in the plants they dry out so quickly this weather. It does help. Looks a bit messy at first but anything5hat helps is worth it.

Item received and as expected.First time using and only put some down today so can't give any long term feedback.Item smells decent and easy enough to handle and put around plants.I also like how it looks compared to bare soil.Will update.Would like to be able to purchase one bag at a time though

Good value, goes a long way

I've been using this mulch for a couple of years on my cottage garden. It is very good at detering slugs (although this year has been a challenge I wong lie 😂)..and is brilliant at keeping soil from drying out. I have found that my soil (chalky and dries out quickly) structure has greatly improved and there are many more worms now.It also goes a long way. I also use it in potted plants . This supplier always seems to sell at a good price too .I recommend you give it a try .

Great mulch

I’ve been using this for about 3 years to mulch around my plants. It looks good and slowly improves the soil. I leave my dahlias in situ over winter with a thick layer of Strulch, they usually survive the winter.
