I've been having trouble with my laptop for the past several months. First it said the battery wasn't charging so, on the advice of the Dell online help person, I bought a new battery. Then I got an error message that said "plugged in, not charging." Research online pointed to a charger problem. Took the computer to the big box office supply store. The tech there pointed out a frayed wire in the charger (but the wiring was still covered). He tried his charger and still got the same message. Said I could send it in to Dell (which the Dell person also advised) because sometimes something goes wrong inside where the charger connects. Or just use it with the cable and work off of electricity rather than the battery. I tried this for a few months.Finally, I decided to buy this charger as it was not expensive as a final effort before I sent the laptop anywhere. Guess what? It worked immediately! Charged the battery in less than two hours. It was down to 6%. It got quite warm the first time but have had no problems since. Both the tech and Dell help online were wrong. It was the charger and not the computer. I still wonder if the battery actually needed replacing or if I just wasted $100 for that. However, I'm a happy camper now. Thanks so much!Update 2023Just purchased another of this same charger. Same problems as before, the battery wasn't charging. Didn't buy a new overpriced battery but went straight to the charger. Worked instantly. Still more life in this old laptop, hopefully for a few more years.

This power cord comes with interchangeable port plugs. Will fit several Dell Inspirion models. Great value.

I don't know why I waited years to get the plug in after my puppy chewed it, but so glad I did. Works great.

It works but I wish it had a 90degree plug as the cord bends if it's not setting flat. Otherwise it's ok

This was a replacement Power supply for a Dell 5000i inspiron Laptop. It worked fine, supplying steady charge to the battery for about 3 1/2 months and then it started failing, supplying charge to the battery intermittently. It seemed to get worse over time and now you have to plug and unplug it from power several times before it supply charge to the battery. Now I probably need to buy another power supply.Updated on 3/27/2019This update was made after the response from the seller to my complaint earlier. Like I said the the power supply worked for a few months and then start failing.The seller responded immediately. First of all I was told that it came with a 12 month warranty(I did not know that) and was given the option of a full refund or a replacement power supply. I requested for a replacement and got two, shipped within two days. I tried both and they worked fine.I was quite impressed with the quick response of this seller. The improved star rating is mostly for their costumer service.

I had to give this a bad review due to the fact it did not charge my lap top what so ever. I have a Dell lap top. Will never buy a Dell ever again. It was no longer keeping a charge. I searched on amazon for the right specs and it looked like this charger would work. It did not. Took my lap top to our 15 yr old tech genius and after trying everything he could it came down to that it this charger. Apparently Dell will only recognize a TRUE dell charger cord and not a nick off. I didn’t know that this charger was a nick off. The description didn’t say that. Anyway, our friend forwarded me the charger that my lap top would recognize and the new charger charges my laptop fine. Beware of this one if you have a Dell. It won’t charge your laptop.

The reason for my ok rating is that the a/c three prong side of the cord is shorter than my previous after market charge cord. On the previous charger the a/c three prong end cord was about 6 inches longer. The end that goes into the charger comes loose easily. It works is the main thing.
