Amazing head unit
I decided to upgrade the old system in my '98 Jag XK8, this was an incredible choice and really makes my system. Many features, still figuring it out. It's connected to A Kenwood Excelon 4 channel amp that powers my Infinity Kappa component speakers in front and Kenwood Excelon duals in back. A Kenwood Excelon 2 channel amp powering my Pioneer 10" shallow mount subwoofer. Absolutely amazing system. The folks who installed my speakers, highest rated car audio installation place in the Phoenix area said he too was blown away with the sound. Everything starts with the head unit.

Awesome!
Had a cheap dual before, upgraded to this beast. Completely took away the hissing sound my old cheap unit was making. Very happy with it.

WEAK HEATSINK - Will not handle high volumes. Crunchy plastic. Good audio features though.
For this pricepoint, the headunit quality is as expected, crunchy buttons and unpleasant touch, but it sounds good and has a good number of controls and customization in colors and audio configurations (eq, crossover, tuning). The biggest problem i have with this headunit is that it frequently overheats itself at about vol 25 and the audio gets crunchy. Turn it down and it cools down and the audio comes back. The heatsink on the back of this unit is VERY SMALL, which seems to be the culprit. This might be better if it was backed by an external amplifier, but as-is, it's a little disappointing. I moved away from Alpine due to BT issues on 3 different headunits over 7 years, but at least I could listen to music at high levels without it overheating. But I guess companies aren't really selling a lot of these, so incentive to make a well-performing model isn't there.

Great head unit
The first head unit I got had some issues, the radio did not work properly and bluetooth connection was unstable so I returned it. The second one works as intented. I am glad to give this head unit a second chance.

High Quality Sound!
Bought this newer Kenwood to replace an old one that finally died after 10 years of great use. This new model is far better than the one it is replacing. The music sounds better coming out of this unit, it is clear and loud, a lot louder than the model it is replacing in my truck. If you have the cash to spare go for the eXcelon model than the standard Kenwood radio. You can hear the difference, it's like night and day. The wiring harness that comes with this is not pre-stripped so you will have to strip the ends of the wire yourself. My old Kenwood harness that was still attached in my truck did not fit this newer model. In the attached picture of the harness the left side is what came with the radio and on the right side is the harness adapter I bought. Had this radio installed in about 20 minutes. If you're thinking about buying this one, do it.

Por el precio esperaba mucho, es bueno sin embargo la calidad del micrófono, no tanto, en lo personal la Alexa se activa cada que vas hablando y es molesto y cuando la vas a usar no se activa, aun asi lo recomiendo

Can't beat the amount of features packed into this unit. Tried it out on the bench before installing to make sure everything was working first. This was replacing a Sony that couldn't place FLAC and didn't have HD-Radio. They don't appear to offer these features in a single DIN. I'm not too surprised as the game has moved on to double-DIN car audio now. Everything went together smoothly and works well. There are a LOT of settings on this radio and you'll be wise to download the full manual from the Kenwood website. I have two complaints about this unit. There's no provision to input "lighting" to the unit, hence it can't be made to dim or change colour when the car headlights are on at night. The second is the unit runs very hot. I positioned a small fan quiet fan to blow air on the heat sink when the unit is on (from power antenna output). Now I'm going to upgrade my speakers.
