Picture book
Bought this book thinking it would be a Van book but really awls it is is a bunch of pictures and a dude talking about being a surfer and live in the highlife. If that’s what you’re into it’s worth it otherwise it’s just listen to a surfer dude and pictures he got from other people put into a book waste of money

Great Van Camping Inspiration
Have had several vans and was ready to get another as I plan my next camper van.My buddy who has a vintage VW camper liked it too. Great for day dreaming about our next Van trip.

For the camper, RV'er, adventurer, car lover, etc.
I kept seeing this book in a high-end retail store that we shop at and wanted to buy it. My husband took note and said we can get that way cheaper at Amazon. He was right! So he bought it as a surprise for me. Having taken a 3,000 mile, 37 foot trailer trip, with two friends over three weeks and enjoying it so much, this book just called to me. Love reading about people like whom the book profiles and their love of travelling and adventure in very small quarters. Don't know if I could do what they do, but I love taking these adventures through them.

Placid read
Wish it had taught me more about the process of putting these together. Some typos. Somewhat dry stories but insightful.

So much potential
I have been following him online and watching the movement for a few years with much admiration. There is a wealth of knowledge out there and many different people with sites and social media to follow. When you use the medium of a book I have a much higher expectation of depth in the content. Foster is an amazing photographer and has been knee deep in van life for a long time. I bought the book with hopes of learning so much more about the people and the families that have chosen this lifestyle but the book didn’t scratch the surface any more than the blogs that are already out there. I may be wrong but I have this suspicion that people have a deep and interesting life story that brought them to this point and I hope that at some point a book comes out that narrows down on just a half dozen of the van lifers and really tells their story.

Good into to Van life
Liked several stories and how the book is well organized, I wish the pictures were properly set for reading books. In general, this is a good introduction to Van life for someone that’s seriously considering it.

Charming
An enjoyable book to leaf through with beautiful pictures and sections on lots of different sorts of van conversions. I'm not quite ready to abandon my 3-star hotel comfort on the road...but it's lovely to sip coffee in the sun on our veranda and dream.

Beautiful photos, interesting stories
This was just what I was looking for! My 10 year old nephew had been doing a lot of research on camper vans. He loves these stories & photos of van types & conversions. I read some of it too & enjoyed the upbeat tone & the great photography.

Great coffee table read
With zero extra funds, technical expertise, time, or skills I opted to buy a 2017 T6 converted VW camper and we’ve had a blast. When I spotted Foster’s book I knew I needed to grab a copy and drool over the retro campers and incredible scenery the contributors have seen. This book is a wonderful coffee table read. It’s packed full of beautiful images of campers across the globe. It includes chapters for T2, T3, and T4 fans, Sprinter vans, school buses, small RVs, and 4x4s. Interspersed between the chapters are real-life stories of van owners and their adventures.I’ve followed the van life hashtag for years and continue to find inspiration for my trips from the huge community that shares their travels and their pride and joy.If you dream of travelling through Italy, Canada, or the National Parks of America then you’ll drool over the images in this book.Would highly recommend it.

A coffee table book
Sadly, this is yet another glossy expensive book, full of short stories about how Miles and Jessica sold up and went to live in a van. Yes, the pictures are pretty good (hence the 2 stars), but the text is boring and repetitive. And trust me, you won't learn anything from it, either. If you like to look at pictures, it's great - if you want advice on a planned trip, this is not the place. It does look at different types of vans, but there's not really any information that might help you make an informed choice - just some different shaped vans in the same old photos. Do I sound bored? Disappointed, more like. Who buys these books?

A nice book for easy reading
This is basically a picture book and some brief interviews with people about their vans and the different paths they have taken. The pictures are awesome and it is nice to see the different walks of life that lead to people living in their vans. Don't be under any illusion that you'll learn a great deal from this book but it's a nice book all the same.

amazing pictures
Inspiring photos. Most of the entries are American and i would suggest they have an easier time of creating these larger vans and getting around on the big roads of USA. But some of the vamped vans are simply stunning, often in beautiful locations. Admittedly more a coffee table book, but there are a few short interesting interviews.
