Possibly My Favorite Mistborn Story
If like me you just can't seem to get enough of Kelsier, then this story is for you. Here we get to see Kelsier struggle against all odds once again, with his unique style and flair. Better than ever before, we get to see the man's true essence, his very soul. We get some of the best Kelsier quotes and learn more about the nature of the Cosmere. It's a tale not to be missed for any fan of the Mist born series

Neat connection
It's fun to see and explore more about the cognitive realm and the connections between different stories in the cosmere. Intriguing story, and even created new aspects to explore and ponder.

For kelsier fans everywhere
Kelsier is my favorite character of the mistborn saga and this did not disappoint. It's a great read and I think reading this book is integral to understanding his character.

Interesting details
I loved the Mistborn series and hoped this would follow up on it, which it does. It is pretty weird and I sometimes wonder about Brandon S and his writing, which for the most part I love. This one, just not as much as the series. Still good.

There's always another secret.
2022-10-16: There's always another secret, and in this little surprise novella from 2016, many are revealed. Unanswered questions have surrounded Kelsier from the very first moment he appeared in Mistborn: Final Empire, and if you, like me, have had those questions nagging at you since your first reading of this book, then you should read Secret History. It's an extremely fun exploration of Kelsier's character that recontextualizes the original Mistborn trilogy and that, at the time of its release (and maybe even still), was so meta within the cosmere that it felt like a cipher of some sorts. The type of release the cosmere nerd salivates over. And what's more, it's just a lot fun. Required reading? I'm inclined to say yes.2016-02-03: This covertly released novella was a treat after reading The Bands of Mourning. If there are any other Mistborn fans out there like me, who loved the first trilogy, and enjoy the Wax and Wayne books but think they are missing that old flavor of the first.. pick this one up. It has the feeling of the original trilogy, and a whole heaping pile of Cosmere goodies throughout. Excellent addition to the Mistborn world.

Read this AFTER the Mistborn trilogy
This book is a great quick read that gives more insight into the Mistborn story. I read it after reading the Mistborn trilogy and the Wax & Wayne books but I’d recommend reading it after the Mistborn books but before starting the Wax & Wayne series. Definitely worth the read.

Plot is amazing but I'm sceptical
Sanderson really shows off his biggest strength in this book: his way of plotting and planning is incredible. To think all of this was planned from the beginning, hence the little hints in the books, is overwhelming.I do have to say that I had some problems with the whole return of Kelsier. I just hate the character resurrection trope in fantasy books and it destroyed the whole mystery and martyrdom of Kelsier for me, but now that I read ‘secret history’ I’ve come around. I do think it’s fitting for him to resist death and not gonna lie I truly enjoyed his interactions with the gods. And I didn’t know that I needed him to meet Elend and Vin so bad, I actually shed some tears while reading it, because of nostalgia and awe.In the end the saying “There’s always another secret” is very true I suppose and I’m excited what is yet to be uncovered.

The difficult is done at once; the impossible takes a little longer
I had just finished reading "The Bands of Mourning" when I stumbled over a note that Mr.Sanderson had written a little e-book only novella for everyone who had loved Kelsier and the orginal Mistborn triology. A little surprise to tide us over until "The Lost Metal" (the final book of Mistborn:Era Two).Mistborn: Secret History takes place during the orginal Mistborn Triology, but despite that it answers (or at least strongly implies answers) about certain events in "The Bands of Mourning" as well as shedding light on some secrets of the orginal Mistborn Triology. To say I was delighted is an understatement. I frequent Mr.Sandersons Webpage a lot and the sneaky author has kept this little project a well guarded secret .The book was all I had hoped. That is saying a lot, given how high my expectations are when I open a Sanderson book (or in this case a e-book novella). It should really, really NOT be read until you've finished the orginal Mistborn triology though. In fact if you haven't done so already, go away. Don't keep reading this review. Thanks!Mistborn:Secret History is about the events in Mistborn told from Kelsier's point of view. It doesn't start at the beginning of Mistborn 1 though. It starts with the death of Kelsier. Yes indeed, the book BEGINS with the death of the main character. But the person we are talking about is Kelsier, the man who stole an empire. You didn't believe he'd go down quietly just because he's dead, did you? It's highly entertaining to watch Kelsier as he tries to figure out what is going on, and very interesting to learn more about how Scadrial is fitting into the Cosmere... and I really don't think I can say more without spoilering the book.
