Very handy device, fast and easy to use.
I am very satisfied with my purchase of this device. I bought 2 and both were fine (one for .30-30, one for .30-06).The batteries are LR41 watch batteries, available at stores that replace watch batteries or online. The device requires 3 batteries. I had no issues with weak or dead batteries - the ones that came with mine outlasted my sight-in session. That said, when the batteries are in the device, the laser is on, so take the batteries out when you don’t want it to shine. This device does exactly what it is supposed to do, and for the price, it does it fairly well: it shines a red laser beam down the rifle bore to the target down range so that you can then adjust your scope crosshairs to cover the laser “dot” on the target. From there, you have to actually fire a round or two to see where your point of impact is and then adjust your scope from there.Things to be aware of: The instructions state that you should not close the action with the laser in the chamber, “because it may damage the laser”, presumably due to the force of the bolt ramming fine. The fit of the casing in the bore was pretty good. However, what I noticed was that the casing will not fully and reliably seat so that the laser is always at the same point down range without some mild pressure behind the casing in the action- this is important so that you can have a stationary laser in the bore, not inadvertently wobbling around in there while you try to adjust your scope. For me, I used a spent casing turned backwards to just hold it in place with finger pressure while adjusting the scope crosshairs - easy peasy. Only required a couple of shots at 25 yards to get my rifle rough sighted and then a couple more at 100 yards to get it dead-on.

Good little tool
Works OK. Figured it was bigger for 30-30. Butbit does fit and is for a couple different calibers. So does the job. Works well easy to use.

Not accurate
Notice to all: BE AWARE OF FALSE SECRUITY. I missed a deer because of this false security. This laser bore sight does not give the results intended. When I got home from my unsuccessful deer hunt, I used this laser sight, again, to zero-in on a target 50 yards away. Once zero-in was completed, I removed the laser sight from my rifle, turned the laser sight 90 degrees, and then immediately put it back in, to check the accuracy of the device, and it was no longer zero-in.. I then fired the rifle to see exactly where the laser sight zero-in actually was, and it was 5 inches high and 5 inches to the right of center. So I fire-adjusted the rifle to center at 50 yards, then I fire-adjusted to 100 yards. Knowing that the rifle was dead center at 100 yards, I loaded the laser sight into the chamber again to see where the laser put me on the 100 yard target, and it was high and to the left, not even on the target. So I took it out, turned it 180 degrees and immediately put it back in and it was now on the target, but low and to the right.. This is information that I did not have until after I missed that deer: The chamber of a rifle is not machine grade 100% level and square where the back of the bullet sits in the barrel.... it is very close to perfection, but not perfect. So when a laser sight sits inside of the chamber barrel in place of an actual bullet, it does not sit perfectly flat against the end of the barrel. Plus, the additional imperfection of the inside rear section of the laser sight itself adds even more inaccuracy. This laser sight will put you on the target at 50 yards, but you still need to fire-adjust the weapon to center. I give this laser bore sight one star because it saved me the cost of bullets for the 25 yard zero-in.
