Nutro Natural Choice Senior Small Breed Dry Dog Food, Chicken and Brown Rice Recipe, 5 lbs.

We bought this food because we've been having a hard time getting our 14 and a half year old Westie to eat and it said that the senior food is made to be more palatable to older dogs. She is eating it very well even though she has been a finicky eater for the last 2 years. We have even tried the premium people food type diets and canned food and she is eating this better than she was eating those. We have been long time Nutro purchasers with the Lamb and Rice formula but she seems to tolerate this chicken formula just fine even though her stomach tends to be on the sensitive side. I was not able to find the senior formula in the Lamb and Rice except in a 30 lb bag which is way too big for our small dog.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Dogs seem to like it and it has clean ingredients!We have ordered this brand of dog food for our two mini dachshunds for several years after it was recommended to us by a veterinarian. We appreciate the clean ingredients and the dogs don’t seem to mind eating a healthy alternative to many of the mainstream brands of kibble out there these days. It can be eaten dry or for older dogs, water can be added to it so it’s easier to chew for those dogs with tooth loss and/or other dental issues.

When Patches moved in with me, his pet parent (my brother) had been feeding him a bit fo this and that. I did some research and suggested we try this food for senior dogs. Patches was never crazy about dry food but he did like this mixed with a wet food. His coat was shiny, he had compact stools with no diarrhea or constipation. I was happy with the quality of ingredients. Buying on subscription thru Amazon made it easy to get and was able to save thru the subscription program.

Very convenient to order online. I like that it comes in smaller bite sizes since my dog is small. I did wish that the bag had a ziploc like how Target sell’s theirs.

This is the only food my little senior chihuahua could eat. My senior chiweenie can eat too. They love it!
