Hero: Hurricane Rescue (Hero, 2)

I am a licensed teacher, and my student wrote the following review:The characters are Hero, Ben, Jack, Scout,and Noah. My favorite was Hero because he was willing to risk his life to save another. They are in Gulfport, Mississippi and they are trying to survive a hurricane. Hero is a rescue dog. This book is a pretty easy read. My favorite part is when they all play baseball. One of the dogs almost gets eaten by an alligator. They also almost get washed down a river. This book is adventure fiction. There are some tense moments in this book Which is why I would recommend this super enjoyable book.

I just finished reading this book with my 12 year old son. We are working on getting him to read books on his own now - I just helped him finish this one to meet a deadline at school. I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the kids' novels we have read are pretty poorly written. This one was well-done. It had varied sentences, good vocabulary, and correct grammar! That is important to me because one of the reasons we want kids to read is for them to internalize rules of grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, etc.Maybe more importantly, this was one of the few books that held my son's interest enough for him to get most of the way through it on his own, in a time frame that felt reasonable to him. He was interested in it for the sake of the story, not just because he had to choose a book for school. He loved the first book and this one, is preparing to read the third, and I just ordered the Scout series for him.I am grateful for well-written children's literature that holds the attention of a boy who struggles with ADHD and learning challenges. He is on the old end of the stated age range for this book, which is 8-12, but I thought it would be helpful to know that it did hold the attention of a 12 year old.

I rated this book with 5 stars because it was a suspenseful adventure; you will not want to put this book down!I am a 5th grader and this was a perfect reading challenge for me! 😁 ; if you are a "doggy" person, this is the book for you!

Non stop action and adventure! Hero is a truly special dog and his owner Ben is very prepared and has excellent values to model.

Here is what my 13-year-old daughter had to say, "This book is awesome. I would recommend it to anyone. Along with all the other books they are amazing. Best book series ever!"

This was one of the best dog books i have ever read. All of the characters are really good. The book was action packed with a twist and danger at every turn. Definitely a must read book.

My son loves this series and we bought all of them. I wish you have more series to read.
