This 2nd gen model has been awesome. Have had close to a year and I use it legit 3 to 5 to a month on the water with my kickboat. Using 30lb min kota Inline 30amp breaker to a 100ah battery Once a month I'll open it up and make sure everything is secured. And only once a screw was semi lose. Use it n the rain and sun all day long usually do a min. Of 8hr days. Only thing I wish It had was a magnetic kill switch Never know. This by far has been 10x better then there 1st gen

First controller lasted almost a year. This one immediately not working out of the box. Controller turns on but the MOSFET must be broken. Screen turns on. But It doesn’t engage the motor (tested current). Disappointed. I wonder if I am sent a controller that someone broke or if this was tested before getting to me.

I used this controller to control some radiator fans I put on my golf cart. The controller works well and is well built. I have zero complaints about it and give it a 5

I purchased one and was disappointed due to the missing screws for the power wire attachments. I returned that one and ordered another. It arrived with all of the screws so I installed it in our 12' fiberglass fishing boat. I have two Minkota trolling motors and have always struggled to keep the speed I want for trolling. We fish for trout in the high mountain lakes in California where the ideal speed for deep water is just above 2 mph. To achieve that speed, one is constantly changing the 5 speed handle. With this speed controller, it is very easy to keep the appropriate speed. I only need to adjust the controller to compensate for the wind direction and speed. This is an awesome product!

Was used less than a month. Used about 10 times. Display still works but not longer sends power to motor. Motor works fine when power is connected directly to it. This controller has a forward and reverse switch. Reverse switch started having issues immediately and now forward no longer works either. No warranty so $70 down the drain.

Recently bought a trolling motor with 5 speeds forward/3 reverse. The lowest speed was calibrated way too fast. I purchased this item to better control the speed of my motor. It was fairly straight forward to setup and install. It works well. Suggestions to take it to a 5 rating: 1) Like another reviewer I was missing a screw for one of the terminals. Fortunately, after shaking the unit the missing screw fell out from the electronics. Weird that at least 2 customers have had missing screws. 2) The instructions provided weren't the easiest to follow (example: "Before installation, make sure the punched surface is suitable for punching."). Also, I have 4 nuts that I have no idea what to do with. Finally, the instructions also state that an extended warranty will be applied by writing them a message. I'm not sure if they mean a review, an email or text message.

Does what it says it will do. I have only tested it with my kayak mounted minn kota endura 30 motor, and for that it is sized perfectly. Mfg. states max 60A draw and 35A continious so I have plenty of headroom. Since it's a sealed box, heat could be an issue down the road with higher draw motors. I looked at building my own, but I couldn't have sourced all of the components required for what I paid for this. My time is also valuable.. at least that's the story I tell my boss.

This product is just awful I was using to control the speed of a ride on train and 2 mins into using it. It started to spark and smoke and when I opened it I found burnt plastic and metal everywhere seriously do not buy it I better get a refund also not to mention it was missing a whole bunch of parts!!
