Awesome value for the money.
Likes:+ Wonderful value, as other solutions cost MUCH more.+ HomeKit provides garage door status right on your apple utility screen, which is awesome if you are away or going to bed and worried about the door being closed.+ Easy Setup in Apple HomeKit by scanning a QR code+ Nice long cable for door closure sensor+ Is compatible with a ton of garage door openers.+ Don't need to use the app to operate, if added to HomeKitDislikes:- Would be nice to have a long wire for the opener circuit- Door sensor is hard to place (at least for my door opener)- Would be nice if the module had some screw-down capabilityFirstly, this thing is just great and installing it was really easy. My wife especially likes being able to open/close the garage door from her Apple Watch and get status at a glance.I did have a minor installation issue, however, but it's not really a fault of the product. My garage door is the type that has a wire rope running down each side with a spring-loaded torsion bar across the top. Initially, I tried to place the door closure sensor (magnetic) on the side of the door, but it just hit the cable when opening the door. I then tried to place it on the door next to the track, but the stationary (wired) part of the sensor just got run-over by the track wheels.Placing the sensor on TOP of the door, however, worked great. I was able to drill some pilot holes and use sheet metal screws to keep the moving portion fixed to the door while some wood screws affixed the stationary portion to the frame on the garage. Routing the cable up and over the torsion bar kept it safely out of the way from any moving parts. This is by far the easiest configuration for the sensor. As for the opener, I wanted to have it on the wall where it would be serviceable as opposed to overhead on the belt-driven opener, as the instructions suggest. To do this, I was able to use a light-gauge extension wire (twisted pair) and tap into the garage door opener button already mounted to the wall. Since it's just a two-wire system and shorting the circuit opens/closes the door, it seems you can extend it 20' or more without any issue. It would be nice if an extension wire were included, as this type of install seems nice.Regarding mounting the unit, it comes with double-sided tape but it would be nice to have some holes for wall-mounting, as I chose to do. It's pretty lightweight, however, so even some screw-down zip-ties could do the job.All said, I love this thing and will update the review if anything goes wrong!

SmartThings Integrated. Priced fairly. Expectations exceeded.
Description: This is a review of the Meross Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener MSG-100 V3. I have a SmartThings & Alexa enabled smart home and typically am pretty strict on SmartThings first, Z-Wave Plus first type devices. Reviews of many Z-Wave or non-WiFi openers have been spotty which is why I wanted and watched for the right device.Summary: Excellent device that works. Integrates seamlessly into SmartThings. Has an intuitive process to follow for compatibility checking. Many features for notifications built-in that I was not expecting. I immediately bought another one for my father (if I have a toy, he should have it too). Overall setup including professional cable routing and making the job look nice was under 30 minutes. How I use mine:- Check on door closure.- Open / Close remotely (even from just inside the house because I can)- Alert if Door Open too long (theft, privacy in residential area)- I have Samsung Sensors that monitor door status also; I create Home Automation within SmartThings where if the SENSOR is open for 10 minutes to CLOSE GARAGE DOOR 1. I am also using the capability of “AWAY” mode to close all garage doors and turn lights as needed.Pros:- Does what is said it would do- Priced nice. I paid $41- Well packaged- Contents are efficient and plentiful (screws, double-sided tape, wire length)- Solid integration with SmartThings- Feature rich, many option for alerting (door open too long, close door after set time, etc)- Wired door close/open sensor (yes, this is a positive – no batteries and it is guaranteed to work 100%)Cons:- Instructions could use improvement. Do not reference SmartThings quickly (Amazon, Google) so one might think this is not supported – but it is.- Setup requires SmartThings V2 app; the setup of Meross is not backwards compatible to SmartThings V1 app (states missing tile).Tips:- Setup WiFi in the comfort of your home before venturing to the garage (comfort)- Test door close/open sensor indoor before going into garage (comfort)- Make it neat and nice. This does not need to make your garage area look sloppy. Plan your wire run and think it through like a Pro. Use adhesive cable clips like I show in the photo to run the wire neatly and tightly.- Tie your wires together or bundle them. Again, make it look neat.- Name your Garage “Garage Door 1” so if you have a second garage it is intuitive. Or, name it “Garage Door Large” so if you have second door that is smaller it is intuitive. This will help substantially when enabling with Alexa so you can say “Alexa, close Garage Door 1” and it will work.- Wire Management Shown in photo: eBoot 100 Pieces Adhesive Cable Clips Wire Clips Cable Wire Management Wire Cable Holder Clamps Cable Tie Holder for Car, Office and Hom by CHEN GU. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HR9VS4I/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_ycR.Db5M28H09
