A dissection of the book of Revelation
Amazing book. Dr. Taylor Marshall is a true scholar. He has dissected the book of Revelation (Apocalypse) and has provided detailed interpretation of the passages and events in addition to taking the time and referencing each event with the vision of the prophet Ezekiel. Detailed work and a book I must read again and share with all interested friends and family.

If the Bible were a museum, this would be the guided tour.
Indiana Jones, in the movie ‘The Last Crusade,’ encounters a point in his journey where the path becomes obscured and his way uncertain. He encounters the bridge of faith, invisible to the untrained eye. Yet, using knowledge and insight, guided by faith in wisdom, he successfully crosses a chasm where eyesight alone proves insufficient. Even so is St. Johns last book in the Bible; the words alone are insufficient without a deeper understanding. For many, Christian or not, trying to fathom the Apocalypse poses a challenge, as it is such a cryptic representation of a vision which is often, largely ‘invisible’ to most. Those passages, however fascinating, are more of a chasm than a bridge. And yet, even as did Dr. Jones in his quest for the Holy Grail finds a way across, without ignoring anything in the texts, Dr. Marshall uses his considerable acumen and logic to reveal a “bridge”, hidden from view for most readers, of that obscure Scripture which, nonetheless, fascinates so many over the centuries.Bristling with supportive footnotes and bibliography, which alone could provide a long summer’s reading list, this richly detailed exposition provides as much of a wealth of knowledge as it does, understanding. And for fans of linguistics and etymology, there is rich reward throughout: the benefit of Dr. Taylor Marshall’s wide mastery in the tongues of the Bible as written, both the Greek and Hebrew, enriched yet again with a mastery of Latin. And so, delving into the great history of the Jews and the Land gifted from God, we find in these pages, not a greater mystery, but a clearer understanding of what is essential as a closing chapter in the greatest (if reprintings are any indication of ‘greatness’) Book ever written: The Bible. A book, which overflows with messages and warnings, admonitions and loving praise, the Bible is sometimes misunderstood for its meaning and purpose. Even as pearls of great beauty can become a nuisance when strewn underfoot, artfully strung they can become a thing of beauty, enhancing the one fortunate to wear it. So too, Dr. Marshall gathers the beauties - the pearls- that fill the sacred Scriptures, though confusing to so many, and masterfully ‘strings’ them together into a cohesive, intelligible, and beautiful exposé of the vision of the end of time, given St John in his last years. In my opinion, this book should be a required compendium for anyone, who is intent on the fullest understanding of the Bible, lending a clarity which fills the reader with many “ah-HA!” moments, even reaching back in time, as the path through obscurity becomes plain, understandable, and mostly, enriching the reader with a hope and joy which is clearly Dr. Marshalls heart, and intent.Even if you are not driven by a spiritual calling to understand scripture, the enlightenment found between these covers is as rewarding as it is entertaining for those ‘entertained’ through the acquisition of knowledge from a renowned scholar, and educator for untold numbers of people, worldwide. After reading this book, I will never see biblical passages in quite the same way.

student of prophecy
Wow! not the usual shallow interpretation of Revelation that is found all over TV and the internet. Any true student of prophecy should read this with an open mind. Highly footnoted with references.

Revelation made understandable
When a Bible is purchased, include a copy of this book if you will read the book of Revelation. To the list of the eight sins, I would add will to power with intent to deny free will of others. Revelation apparently says that absolution must include doing works. I do not do works as I understand it, and I know of only one other person who does. The day before Pope Francis published his document allowing priests to bless same-sex couples, and on his birthday, lightening struck the statue of St Peter at St Peter's Church in Buenos Aires Argentina, where Pope Francis had been bishop and cardinal. The lightening strike had bypassed lightening rods installed on the church roof. The halo of St Peter and the Keys to the Kingdom on the statue were obliterated with little or no damage to other parts of the statue. This event seems nothing less than miraculous, like an act of God. Is it possible to determine the probability that this event could happen absent the direct hand of God?Lightening begins with a cloud of free electrons residing in a vapor cloud. The electron cloud wants to go to ground where there is zero potential. It sends out sensing for a path which will be at a lower potential than the electron cloud. The lower potential path found, the cloud of free electrons bolts along the path to ground, atomizing atmospheric molecules along the path. The Lord in heaven might have enabled the process by placing billions of billions of positively charged ions along a path from a cloud to the halo and the Keys of the Kingdom on the statue. In other words, God would have put a wire in the sky to guide the lightening bolt where he wanted it to go. Did He put a wire in the sky? Pope Francis also believes that no one is removed from the church by schism, apostasy, or blasphemy. It may be that Francis hopes for divine salvation of every human being who is living or who ever lived. But hope itself does not equate to fact. But when we look at the creativity of how the world is built, of, for example, how lightening bolts happen in detail, then a precise order and great beauty is seen. It becomes evident that the second law of thermodynamics, IE original perfect order, reveals the truth of God. Perfect order does not occur by accident. Great beauty is a mark of every soul, is the mark of the word of God. The hearing of the voice of God in the conscience is the consummate communication.

Different book.
The first thing I noticed is the print is lighter than books I read comfortably. I also noticed the organization of book is in parts rather than chapters. So the organization is different at least from other informational books on the subject. I love to hear Dr Marshall speak and the way he is so quick and can relate in conversation and put ideas together on the spot because of his many years of obvious study. He's a good listener also. He also has a genuine response to things that are wrong morally. I haven't gotten to delve in yet to the book because of the print and organization style is different to me and perhaps "listen" to Dr Marshall rather than read him so to speak. The audio book might be the way to go. But I am carving out that moment to dig in and get out of this book what may be a message we haven't really heard for our time and correct some of those wacky books that came out in the last 50 years.
