Bought these to use one of them as a sugar bowl. I like it (them).
I had one of those old retro sugar dispensers like you found in restaurants 60 years ago. The glass container with the screw-on thin metal lid with the pour hole covered by a little flat of metal. I loved those containers just because of the retro/fond memories. What I was not liking was that every time I had to remove the screw-on lid, it became more and more difficult to get the darned thing off. It was a screw-on, not a screw-off lid. Sugar would get in the threads and bind up solid. No matter how I tried to clean them, it just seemed to get worse. I finally threw the darned thing in the trash and went in search of a replacement. I landed on these.I 'mostly' really like these containers for sugar dispensers. They are the perfect size for what I wanted. They aren't overly large, yet I don't have to constantly be refilling them. The little spoon in the little loop on the side is perfect. I have always liked bamboo. The spoons are just the right size, nicely crafted, and... bamboo. The lid (on the one I have used so far) fits almost perfect. It is tight enough to keep the sugar fresh, yet it is not difficult to remove the lid when needed, even one-handed. And that is from where the only con I have stems. When reaching for the container to take it off the shelf and to lower it to the counter or to carry it somewhere, it works best for me to reach down over the top of the container. I grip it with my four fingers on one side and my thumb on the other. This is where it gets tricky. The glass is glass. It is smooth and can be a bit slippery. There is not lip at the top of the glass. If your fingers slip, the only thing there is to stop the container from slipping out of your (and crashing to its death) is the lid. And the lid comes off nicely, even with one hand. The lid will NOT stop the glass container from slipping away. You will end up with a really nice lid in your hand and a nice pile of shattered glass and, sugar everywhere. I am contemplating buying some non-skid one-side-sticky strip of non-skid tape and running a ring around the top if the glass. If your fingers are wet or oily, goodby sugar jar.I would buy these again (and will have to if I don't get some non-skid on them).I would recommend these to someone I liked.

Glass Sugar jar
This is perfect for those of us who like sugar cubes. My small pincer fits in the receptacle for the spoon. The lid keeps the humidity out of the jar so the cubes stay intact.
