The base of the holder is great it fits securely to the dashboard center vents with 4 small grub screws located on the back of the unit this holds the base in place so you can still access the vent controls. My only criticism is the magnet strength for holding your phone in place is very weak I have a s20 fe so not the largest or heaviest phone and it has slid off the magnet while driving along the motorway which was not a rough ride so definitely a magnet strength issue. It would be a better if it were coupled up with a self closing cradle type dock with the same vent mounting plate.
