Was great until the firmware update
It's difficult to do a review on this printer since I can't use it anymore and can't tell you about all the great options it's supposed to have but I will try. Wireless connectivity is unpredictable . I'm always having to go into the menu which is very tedious and reconnect and has nothing to do with my router or my modem because everything else on my network connects just fine. The print quality is questionable seems no matter how clean the inkjets are I always get streaks and error messages. This happens no matter what brand of ink I use. So, I stopped buying the expensive Epson brand if I'm going to get poor quality. The noise level well that's something you're going to have to get used to and it's very slow making the noise level last a long time however; This WAS a fantastic piece of machinery until Epson got greedy and decided to send out an update to the firmware making the printer unusable if you do not use EPSON brand cartridges ONLY. That's great except that those tiny ink cartridges don't last more than a few weeks and come with a very huge price tag not everybody can afford them. I'm nowhere near rich; it takes me a ridiculous amount of time to save money. I swear I printed about three or four documents average quality prints and already it was prompting me to buy more of their exclusive ink cartridges. Not to mention all the copies that came out with poor quality. (three). Even the black color is ridiculously priced. But EPSON knows that. Makes me regret getting an Epson. That's two printers that I have that I can't use because of their clever upgrade. A complete waste of money that I don't have. I positively can't stand this company anymore. Why not send out a firmware update so we have to use exorbitantly priced paper made of birch trees in the paper tray too? There's absolutely nothing I can do to make this printer work or be useful except to sell it, but nobody wants Epson because they're not a budget-friendly company. Buy their proprietary garbage only and you'll be fine (and broke). - Try to use affordable third-party ink cartridges and end up having a printer that does nothing except collect dust and make you regret ever spending any money on them ever again. Great job!By the way there's lots of redundant software on this printer that you'll never use, it makes it very confusing while trying to navigate through the menu as you read all the error messages. I'd suggest any other printer just not EPSON. Unless you like error messages. Glad I could help!

EPSON'S ARE THE BEST
Awesome little printer, and if you buy one, read all the directions! I had some issues, and that was because I put the USB Cable in the plug, and I had to redownload the software. It packs a bunch with the colors and print. I love EPSON PRINTERS! This one is added to my other computer systems in my home. Definitely would recommend this printer to anyone who needs a great little lightweight printer.

Better printer than exoected
I am normally an inexpensive Canon inkjet printer user, but became disenchanted with my latest Canon MG6200 that uses a combined (r,y,c) color ink cartridge since individual colors are used at different rates, and when one color is low, the Canon will often leave any location with that color blank … even if I select “black” only … that I had thought would result in a mixture of white, black and various greys (in place of the individual colors). Nope. So done with that Canon. I needed a small footprint printer that utilized individual inks for each color. I found that Epsom Expression XP-5200 met all my needs, as well as a slighly more expensive Epson, and a similar Brother (I purchased a Bother a few yrs ago, and returned it immediately after being unable to get crisp printed output). My only concern with the Epson was with the various discussions re the ability to use less expensive “remanufactured” ink cartridges, since Epson apparently identifies nonEpson cartridges and disallows their use with future SW upgrades. There are various methods (apparently) to get around this problem, and remanufactured “guarantee” their cartridges will work! Since I am not a “frequent” printer, I decided to purchase the Epson Expression XP-5200, as well as a set of highly rated remanufactured, as well as standard Epson ink cartridges. Have not yet installed either, so no determination yet of the use of remanufactured cartridges. However, the Epson xp-5200 arrived promptly. The setup instructions can be misleading, and allowing the automatic setup using the Epson app failed continuously because the Epson would not retain a wi-fi connection with my router. I then followed the “manual” installation, and after performing the wi-fi setup … apparently that was enough, the two partial setup attempts worked, the Epson console sprang to life and all seemed well … a bit disconcerting because I never reached ppd a “finish” step as usually required, the Epson initialization was quite quick, the console was very bright, and after a few moments touching all the buttons … how to use it “manually” was clear and obvious. I downloaded the Epson printer app onto my IPad, 2 laptops, and desktop PC. Eason Support indicates the SW printer and SW that should be downloaded, very quickly done. …these are used when the non manual mode (e.g. from Word, Excel, Internet sites, etc) are used and you select “print” . The “AirPrint” from IPad, and computer printing all went flawlessly to my surprise, the printer head alignment was quick, and pages were crisp … and the Epson CO-5200 prints fast (compared to the Canon). There are 5 possible apps to choose, but only the manual, actual SW app, and Connectivity app are likely required (the other 2 apps are for printing photos). The SW installation was much quicker than for the Canon … and the number of apps many fewer than for the Canon(I actually found the Canon app suite confusing). Whether the Epson SW provides all the capabilities of the Canon is yet to be determined, But, it has all the basic needs (orientation, pages, margins, two-sided … etc)that I (and likely 95% of all users will need). One quirk noted that the Eoson sometimes loses the Wi-Fi connection (shown in printer console with a red warning). Just touching that icon seems to clear up the connection problem immediately (time will tell if this is a real problem with “my” Epson, or a general problem (read other reviews!). In summary, nice footprint, clear manual console, bright icon displays on the console, User manual is extensive, AirPrint, Wi-Fi print works well … very happy with my purchase!

Good for general use.
So far so good . My old printer was more expensive and did last a time. But this printer has more features and prints pictures well.

Worked with chromebook
Wonderful printer, copier and scanner. It connected with my chromebook laptop. Other printers could not be connected. I also purchased additional printer ink to have on hand. So very happy. Thank you for having this!

Great printer... Expensive ink...
This is a great little printer that is very easy to install... but... suppose you want to print only in black and white... the printer will not let you unless all of its ink cartridges are installed... and those cartridges are expensive... in a NYC Staples store the CMY cartridge pack costs $33.00 and the black cartridge costs $27.00... Buyer beware.
