Great Cast Iron Care Set – Natural and Easy to Use!
I’ve been using the Caron & Doucet Cast Iron Soap and Oil for my cast iron skillet, and I’m very happy with the results. Both products work great — the soap cleans without stripping the seasoning, and the oil helps maintain a nice, smooth finish. I also love that they are made with natural ingredients and don’t have any bad smell, which is a huge plus for me. Overall, it’s an easy and effective way to keep my cast iron in top shape. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to take good care of their cast iron cookware!

Very Effective Product!
This is a high quality product and very effective. I purchased this initially for my cast iron skillets. Regular oil leaves a sticky residue, and the description guaranteed it wouldn't cause that problem, and that is a fact. After washing and treating my favorite skillet, I decided to try it on my cast iron gridle, burner grates, and burner caps. I was so impressed with their "brand new" appearance! I definitely recommend this product for all your cast iron needs.

Love the product a lot
Love the product a lot. Spent so much time using canola oil on my cast iron it made it sticky and really didnt help keep it greased especially after washing it I felt like I was starting all over to maintain it, every time I cooked on it. Love the soap with a touch of oil in it, it cleans very well and leaves a touch of oil behind not stripping it from its oils. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because pouring it wastes a lot of it making it go very quick. With me cooking 2 times a day cleaning my pans and having to pour it, it goes very quick already have to order more and its not cheap. I recommend providing at least a spray bottle with it. I put a pump on them which helped more but still hard to spread around with the brush and paper towel leaves particles. So I bought little spray bottles and love it. I can spray little oil all over the pan and on the cast iron stove grills which I could not do before. I illuminated the crappy brush, saved time, better coverage and use less oil and soap.

gentle and effective duo
I made a large investment in French cast iron cookware earlier this year .... the Caron Doucet soap and oil set has proven to be highly effective at removing sticky pieces of food from my pans as well as preserving them with the natural based oil. I am only using this duo moving forward for all of my cast iron cookware. Savoir faire is key and if you are looking for the proper products here they are. merci

Purchased this set along with a cast iron scrubber for some pretty grody cast iron--a skillet and a griddle. Did the job beautifully--they both look like new!

I Was Skeptical at First...
I'm old school when it comes to cast iron. I never use soap. Liquids never sit in the cast iron any longer than necessary. Cast iron is cleaned immediately after use. These are the rules my grandfather gave me and I have always stuck to them. Recently, I came across a beautiful cast iron skillet at an estate sale in desperate need of love. The asking prince was $3. I pulled out my usual bag of tricks for recovering neglected cast iron, but I still wasn't able to get that smooth, glossy black surface. I read a few blogs and forum posts to see if there were any new tricks out there. I came across a mention of "soap" for cast iron. I initially shook my head, but there was a lot of positive responses to the post. I checked Amazon and quickly found this and the Cast Iron Oil. They were sold in a bundle and were inexpensive enough, so I thought I'd give it a try.The Cast Iron Soap is made from saponified coconut oil. Soap is what you get when you mix an oil with lye. In this case, it created a gentle soap with the very same oil used to season cast iron. You only need a very small amount, too. This removed all of the years of neglect and whatever else was hiding in the iron and left a beautiful, dull black finish. After drying the pan, I placed it in the oven to remove any remaining water and gently heat the iron to open its pores. Once accomplished, I rubbed the entire pan down with the Cast Iron Oil. It left a beautiful sheen and was not the slightest bit sticky. The first time I used the pan was to make eggs. There wasn't the slightest bit of sticking and the cleanup was a simple rinse, dry, and re-oil. That pan is now one of my favorite and I'm in the middle of reseasoning all my pans with the Cast Iron Oil. Get yourself some. There's just nothing else like it.
