Cute and fun for party favors
Overall the quality was nice and the packaging was great. Everything arrived in tact. It’s a nice kit for the money for sure. The kids had a great time opening their gift bags and finding these shells. My son and his cousin enjoyed unearthing the figurine inside. My son did it speedily with ease and his cousin took his time; both methods worked well. The suggestion of using water is pretty important and should be noted. We have done these before and it felt impossible to dig into these without making a huge mess, but the water tip made it way easier. We haven’t done the shark tooth one yet. The display holder was a pretty cool addition to the purchase. The only bad thing was the kids didn’t open the shells at our house and I was unable to give the proper card to each kid, so we just kept the cards. It would’ve been nice to know which animal they got to give them the corresponding card. However, giving them a random card isn’t totally a bad idea, either.Fun and cute, fairly easy activity for kids. It’s even better if you can let the kids make as big of a mess as they want to by opening them outside. But a plastic plate at the kitchen table was fine, too.Anyways, I would buy these again.

Fun for a rainy day
So I think the tools are a little dangerous.. I was cautious myself and only allowed with actual adult supervision, I think a wooden spoon / stick might be better. But honestly, this is so fun! Not too expensive either. My 3 yo loves them and it’s an indoor or outdoor activity so you can use it as a non-technological activity if you’re stuck inside for weather (like 100 + in TX or like 11 in TX)

Well made and very giftable.
The box is very colorful and well constructed, very appealing to a child. The shells, digging tools and fact cards are well made also. My grandson will love it!

Great!!!
I didn’t take a picture sorry. But you definitely get what you see here and the product was great. My son didn’t have a hard time digging up his treasures and loved every single minute of it!!

Awesome Party Favor!
The kids loved these. One of the kids wanted to try it and then the other kids were watching and then wanted to do theirs. They really loved them and wanted more to do!! The 4 year old needed a little help, but then wanted to do it himself. The ages of the kids at the party were between 4-13 and they all enjoyed them.

The kids loved these
Soak in water for 10 minutes before you dig the animals out. The kids loved them and they kept them busy for 20 minutes!

Fun, but not real shark teeth
We bought 2 sets of these. The kids had a great time digging out the sea animals. But the site claimed "realistic colored shark head plaster lets you dig out and discover 3 real fossil shark teeth." These are obviously plastic replicas. Lost 1 star for that disappointment. Our avid shark fans were not impressed with fake teeth, but did enjoy playing with the sea animals once they were dug out.

Perfect goodie bag piece
These are a kiddos favorite way to explore and use gross and fine motor skills to see what’s hidden in the seashells. If you give them as a goody bag item, be sure to let the parents know they aren’t bath salts. :-)

Party toys!
Bought 2 pack of these to keep 20 kids entertained during a failed summer garden party (it rained heavily). Hid these in the garden (they are individually protected by a thin plastic film) and got the kids to dig through them under a gazebo. Worked a treat. They could also be used as a party bag filler.

Excellent value
Lovely, like the other dig kits you get. Good value for money in my view. Mostly plastic toys inside, but just as much fun for the kids. Keeps my toddler very happy to get one as a treat. Would probably also work very well for a kids party or as party favours.

A lot of fun
The media could not be loaded. The kids had a really good time with this. A bit like a more educational version of Hatchimals (which they love) with a bit more focus on the "breaking open to get to the toy" part. They are interested in fossils, so they were keen to have a go, although I have to say the experience isn't really like fossil hunting at the beach! They were pleased with discovering the toys inside which have gone in a box never to be seen again. From my experience, you are getting this purely for the experience of digging out the creatures. As they're on offer for about £15 right now, I think they are decent enough value and as others have said, they are a great party bag filler - something really different (although unless you x-ray the shells first, you won't be able to give the right card with the right shell).

There is a personal story behind this purchase, great fun!
I bought this for my son's little boy, when we went to Canada to visit my sister when he was five, a well renowned Dinosaur Museum near Calagary had a very large plaster block children put on goggles and chiped away at it with a real hammer and chisel. (Before Health and Safety - but other countries do do things differently still!) All the other children walked away after five minutes my son stayed there for two hours chipping away. We had our lunch and a coffee while we waited for him to get bored, but he continued to chip away at it until he found something. I didn't have the hear tto pull him away from this. The museum workers thought he was the nicest little boy they had ever met. Presented him with a massive certificate and went off to find him some free gifts. I am planning to get a big tray of sand and bury the shells in the sand and then we will dig to find the shells and then wet them and dig for the little sea creatures. Will bring back memories of his first ever foreign holiday! Honestly, when I saw it I had to buy it, I do thing it is fun for a little boy or girl, the little plastic animals probably aren't very big, but they can be played with afterwards, put in a grab bag to take wherever you go ... I didn't even think about the price point of this, because it bought back such happy memories. If you buy things based on your children or grand children's interests, things that will help them learn, things that move them away from screens and spending quality time together, as long as you can afford it, then it's all good. It is an unusual kit.

Brilliant, somewhat educational rainy day fun!
10 year old me was lucky enough to find a piece of the West Runton Elephant and got a tour of my local Museums conservation centre as reward and while I already had the palaeontology bug before then, I was well and truly bitten after that!Fast forward 25 years and I’m still entirely in love with the discovery and wonder of finding ages old fossils and relics in and around my local coastline and it’s no surprise that this kit of 12 gypsum encased mini plastic sea creatures along with a rather special Shark shaped Gypsum block with contains 3 fossilised Sharks teeth, accompanying fact cards, 12 plastic excavation chisels (with brushes) and a shrink plastic display case for the sharks teeth! At the time of writing this, each of the 13 individual projects works out at around £1.50/piece making them the ideal gifts to put in party bags, for projects at school or at an after school club or just as a bit of fun on a rainy day :)The figures and teeth are encased in non-toxic Gypsum which while fairly easy going for an adult, should pose quite an obstacle for younger hands meaning there should be a good amount of playability and time consumed for each block! And while it is crumbly and chalk like, it didn’t make too much mess at all when I gave one a go and it’s easy to clean up and dispose of afterwards :)I got the Devilfish aka the Giant Devil Ray (Mobula mobular) and while the moulding and painting is basic, it’s still a fun wee thing! My only criticism comes from the fact cards that accompany the excavated sea creatures - there isn’t much conformity or consistency with the way the information is given or presented and in the case of my Ray, the information was fairly…vague? “Devilfish belong to fish, which is a kind of cartilaginous fish.” I think fact checking and proof reading is super important for any toys marketed as being educational for children!Beyond that, I think these are brilliant and I look forward to seeing who wins the fight between my nephews for who gets to dig out the sharks teeth!
