Excellent simple phone compatible with Verizon network
The TCL Go Flip 2 4058G is an excellent flip phone that works great on Verizon's network (via US Mobile's "Warp" service). It supports the critical (for Verizon) 4G LTE Band 13, in addition to bands B2/4/5/12/66/71/25/26/41. Currently a great value, but may soon become scarce with the introduction of the Flip 3, which unfortunately has a more complicated interface - and apparently software issues per the reviews. The Flip 2 UI is uncluttered and responsive, its easy to increase the font size for better visibility, has long battery life (~14 hrs talk or ~18 days standby) and USB-C power input. We wanted a simple way to call and text without needing reading glasses, and were not interested in apps or browsing with this phone. If you prioritize ease of use and battery life over features like apps or camera quality, the Flip 2 is a better choice than the Flip 3 and half the cost!Purchased from eKings.

Bad product.
Device call quality sounds muffled with T-Mobile, still haven’t received my refund and it’s been weeks. I do not recommend purchasing this if you are a T-Mobile user.

A very welcome step up for usable flip-phones (feature phones) in late 2022
Cons1) The product page on Amazon.com needs major corrections, updating! (still wrong photos! 2024/01/24!)a) NOT shown in the seller provided photos (see attached photo): the keypad includes a row of 3 keys above the number/letter keys: (1) Favorites, (2) Messages, & (3) Go Back/Undo. (If you look at other TCL Go Flip phones, you will see this layout is very common, including TCL's KaiOS phones; this phone, however, is an AOSP Android 11 OS phone.).b) MicroSD card supports up to 128GB are supported (Web page states 32GB)c) Amazon product page states there are front & back cameras. There is only ONE (poor resolution, 2 MP) "back" camera.d) photo with Facebook, YouTube, etc. apps is wrong. 4058G does NOT support app store!2) We could not find any manufacturer online information for this phone (TCL Flip 2 model 4058G). Mfr date for our phone is Sept. 2022, so possibly the info vacuum is due to its being a recent model?3) The only user doc (other than safety/precautions brochure), is an extremely minimal Quick Start Guide. A lot of basic information is missing/not discussed. We also prefer a PDF version of user doc's since they are much easier to search and are much more readable (i.e., with a PDF, you can increase font size -- printed docs with a 4-point font size & minimal illustrations, such as these, are difficult for most people to view/read). For a phone targeted at seniors, such poor documentation and with very small fonts is a contradiction.4) Cellphones at this "price point" have questionable, at best, component quality. Phone calls of more than a few minutes have the other party complaining about not being able to hear us. (Suggestion: Use better components and raise the price, but only appropriately please!)Pros1) On T-Mobile (not pre-paid): good network features supported: 4G LTE & Enhanced LTE.2) That the phone's OS is AOSP (a variant of Android 11) is a plus to us.3) We tested the Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi calling, & the Web browser, as well as the basic phone functions, voice and text messaging, and we were very pleased.4) There are a lot of features and settings and as yet, we haven't explored them all.5) Easy set up with an existing account, T-Mobile SIM.The CPU tech specs are not listed, though response time to menu selection seems good. The case is plastic and there are only a couple of hardware buttons, other than the keypad: A volume control on the side, and a "favorite" on the front (for quick access to one favorite phone number, esp. an "SOS" type number for those needing one). Many phones in this category also have a HW camera button.Of course, many issues will need "the test of time" to be evaluated, but after a few days, we are very pleased with this flip phone.Flip-phones are NOT only for kids and seniors. As news media have reported, many people want more choices, more alternatives to extremely distracting, bulky, & often very expensive "smart" [sic] phones. That said, we wish somebody would mfr a better quality, more powerful flip-phone (there is a product vacuum in this area), but this phone appears to be one of the best out there at the end of 2022 (as another reviewer pointed out).

Good phone
Bought the new phone versus the refurbished one, so can’t comment on those. So far, it has been great for what I got it for: basic texting and talking. I am not techy and couldn’t get any of my emails to work. Slightly disappointed it doesn’t have an FM radio, but I hardly used mine on my old phones,so not a big deal. This phone is super lightweight and fits in a women’s shallow jean pocket great. The sound quality is decent and have had no dropped or static sounding calls. Texting is a breeze if you are familiar with the T9 keypad. The key pad types easily and you don’t have to press really hard. I hope this phone lasts a long time. I like it much better than the recent flip phones I have had: Consumer Cellular Link II, Consumer Cellular Iris Flip, Consumer Cellular Easy Flip, HMD Barbie Flip, the last being the most disappointing call, battery, and connection wise.I would highly recommend this phone and the seller ekings if looking for a simple phone without bells and whistles.

So Far, So Good
Not yet connected to a carrier but will soon. Following applies to what I got from the box.The Good: Replaceable battery -- I forgot about this feature of Flip Phones, and I love it. Also, the software update completed and is good. Good audio for a small phone. The Bad: Looked like original packaging, sealed and everything, but phone uses an USB C connector, and the included charger cable had a micro connector -- not a good start.

TCL Go Flip
Husband likes his flip phone. Very sturdy as it has been dropped several times. Was easy for him to learn to use. He likes the size. Works very well.

Retro technology wasn't that great.
The positive thing is that it does work on T-Mobile and sends and receives phone calls. However, all other features are 25 year old technology. Entering text on a phone keypad is a pain. The browser is horrible. I couldn't set up either my yahoo or gmail accounts. The screen resolution for videos is terrible. But I did pair with Bluetooth on my smartphone and imported my contacts.Bottom line is that it's OK for making voice calls, but useless for everything else, but what did I expect for $29.Update. Although I get a message to enable WiFi calling, the phone doesn't have an option to enable it, so I assume it's not supported. Because of this I'm changing my rating from 2 stars to 1 star.
