Perhaps this isn't a problem for most folks, but sometimes we forget to check the batteries in our electronics and by the time we remember, one has leaked and ruined the contacts. We decided to purchase these little D-cell storage boxes and place them next to our flashlights, lanterns, etc. so we can add them when needed and when through, return them to their storage boxes.These boxes are transparent enough to see through and the lid stays closed, and they are cheaper to replace than a flashlight should a battery leak (and we have had what were supposed to be new batteries leak within a couple of months after purchase.)Hey, we might be fumbling around in the dark next time we need a light, but it beats finding out too late your electronic device's battery compartment is filled with corrosive.

Good product to keep batteries organized. They could use some plastic separations which should be included with cases when ordered so when storing the batteries, the ones on bottom are separated from ones on top for extra protection. Otherwise happy with product.Complaint: The packaging sent out with this product needs major work. One arrived very damaged and broken in many places. Product had nothing worthwhile put in packaging to protect them from arriving damaged by postal workers who are notorious for throwing pkgs at your door and in trucks. Also note: Returned product and asked for another one to be sent out, but got refund instead. Too reorder more, I would then of had to pay for shipping again so would not re-order in future.

For the 8 "D cell" size --- Bought two. The lid on one fails almost completely. The other is 'ok' but definitely won't contain the batteries under any kind of moving condition (like in the trunk or a back pack.)Likes:1) cheap2) see through3) takes up way less space than the default Duracell or other brand retail packaging.Dislikes:1) not quite tall enough for the lid to properly close tightly if all 8 D-cells are loaded2) of the two I bought, one barely latches at all3) 50/50 chance of the batteries spilling out if you happen to pick the box up upside down.4) 50/50 chance of the lid coming up while you are retrieving it from the drawer or cabinet, even if you grab it right side up.

The thickness is just right to hold the D cell batteries. The price is right considering it is hard to find cases for just one size battery.

These are awesome... can't believe I went without for so long. We use so many D batteries for our Nerf Guns... these are great for organizing and safely storing them.

The Home-X-Clear D Battery Storage Case is well made and sturdy.It holds 8 D-Batteries without any flexing or twisting of the case.The case may be stored flat on its bottom or on end.I would definitely recommend this storage case and I would buy again.
